This remote is not that good. Logitech sent me a free one when my One's screen broke. The biggest negative of this remote is the poor button placement. It's a pain to have the play/forward buttons above the screen.

Does this remote use only IR? I have the Logitech smart hub- can this remote talk to the smart hub?

Why would anyone spend this kind of money for a remote. I even noticed a 200 one posted months ago. What do these remotes do that the average one doesn't or even a smart phone wont.

Seems like money wasted to me.

I can program one button to watch a BluRay... this button push would do many functions.. turn on my TV, switch the input to the right HDMI input, turn on my AV receiver, put that on the correct input, turn on the BluRay player, etc.

Furthermore, the remote can be programmed to control certain devices in certain scenarios; for examples, you may want the volume to always control the receiver rather than the TV.

Some people value having a 'smart' remote. If you do not mind using a generic universal or your smartphone, then all the power to you. At least have a shred of curiosity; phrasing your question as if anyone buying this is wasting money makes you sound very ignorant.

Just so you know, the Touch is a discontinued model. It is replaced by the "Ultimate One", but it's virtually the same. I think the only difference is the haptic feedback (vibration on button press), and the motion sensor.

I like these remotes, and though the button placement seems odd, if you configure your remote to show the gesture screen on activity startup, then a simple tap will play/pause, and a swipe right will forward, left will rewind, and swipe and hold will skip. You can also reverse this functionality.

As to whether these remotes are a waste of money, I would say if you have to ask, then you should just move along.

If you own a TV, and a cable box, and you listen to your sound with the small speakers in your tv, then you don't need this.

But if you have multiple sources, an A/V receiver, and a game system, these harmony devices are a god send. Essentially, when someone in the house can't figure out how to do something, instead of calling you at work, they can just press the "HELP" button. And it will walk you through the questions to fix your problem.
