Liar! Dell & Slickdeals!

I usually don't do rebates of large amounts but this time I jumped because I trusted slickdeals and dell. I was wrong, and I was punished.

I sent every document on the first day through USPS. They now told me they never received it. I couldn't help thinking that since the amount of rebate is quite large, you randomly screw up some customers to make your balance sheet positive.

I talked to the rebate center representative.

Me: Can I print everything out and resend?

The representative: It's too late. The rebate has been rejected as the promotion has closed.

Me: I never got a message saying that you did not receive the document. I was told at the point of submission that the rebate would take 6-8 weeks to process. So I waited. I did whatever you told me to do but got punished? What could I have done differently?

The representative: But my record shows that we did send you a message to tell you that we did not receive the document.

Me: When?

The representative: A few days ago. We told you that the rebate is declined.

Me: ...

Based on prior posts, you should probably email rebates@slickdeals.net if you haven't already and give them the story.

I have done 300 rebates in the last 10+ years and 2 were lost. but, i had tracking fro all 300. I think confirmation is around 40-50 cents... I print my labels through payment, to me it's worth it.

we have *nothing* to do with how rebates are received and processed. we get involved is once they are scanned into the system by Afligo (who does rebates for most major companies out there).


if, it was never scanned, it was likely lost, but where, no one knows. If you had tracking with showing it was received, then there could be something that we can do, such as open case and have it looked at. but without it, what can we do?

So, people don't start calling after 10-17 days after mailing, especially if you don't see an update or don't have a way to check it? One has to be more vigilant w high dollar rebates, especially w dell. I hear sob stories about Dell on SD. I would certified from the start w that biz.
Wow. I call on a $10 rebate. If, no resolution, I send everything again, certified. I hope you have better luck w slickdeals.

too much effort and pain to do rebates. just too lazy.
