Thread Details

If you go to Battletech [battletechgame.com] you will find a rendering of an Atlas head. [The Atlas is an amazing walking tank].

I have created a copy of my own that I would like to put on the back of a flight jacket that I bought for the purpose.

Here's my problem and why I'm looking for help.

How would I transfer the image from the printout I have to the jacket fabric? Once it is outlined I can do the rest I just need an outline.

Thanks in advance.

Do you want an outline or some kind of decal that can be ironed on? If the second, you can get one made.

Otherwise, print it out the size you want and get your sewing skills up and going. Pin the pattern on and use some chalk to sketch it out if your plan is to color or paint.

May be able to help more if you let me in on your final intention or media you plan to work in.

Basically I created a line drawing of an Atlas skull. I then printed the black and white rendering.

The flight jacket is actually a look alike of fine weaved cloth that looks like shiny canvas but it is actually some type of plastic fabric. [I don't have access to the jacket right now. It's at home]. I already know that acrylic paint will bond or stick with/to the fabric.

In the end I want the skull painted on the back of this jacket. I have never done anything like this before but if I can make it look like I see it in my minds eye it is going to be subdued and awesome at the same time. Anybody that played Mechwarrior back in the day will immediately recognize the art work.
