Best Credit Card to Pay College Tuition With?

ninanima 203 25 January 16, 2016 at 01:18 PM
Hey guys,

I was just wondering which credit cards give the most amount of cashback for college/educational transactions. My school allows me to pay my tuition using any type of credit card (even Discover and Mastercard), and I was just looking for a card that would benefit me the most when I pay. If this helps, my tuition for this semester is around 3.5k.

Thank you!

I'd go with this one - http://slickdeals.net/f/8256561-chase-sapphire-preferred-credit-card-50k-points-w-4k-spent-in-1st-3-mos?v=1

That's actually a really good deal! The problem is that I forgot to specify in the OP that I was not looking to sign up for a new credit card. I have every "major" card (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, AMEX) and I was looking to see if one of the cards I had gave cashback for educational transactions.

Repped anyway. Thanks friend!

Ah gotcha. Well with so many cards out there, you will have to research the T&C for your individual cards.

You may want to try the Credit Card thread in the Finance Forum: http://slickdeals.net/f/1863955-credit-card-thread?v=1

Very popular and lots of advice in there whether it's about credit cards or threads where you list expenses and people suggest ways to cut back and save. Have you looked into U-Promise? It works with the cards you mentioned. I'm not exactly sure how it works but you get something like cash back and the ability to lock in tuition rate. There are plenty of other ways to make that 3.5k seem less intimidating. Don't be shy about asking. Smilie
