I'd never buy memory on Amazon from a third party. Too many fakes.

If I understand it right, Class4 cards are better for smartphones because they provide better random IO performance. Sequential IO is not important for smartphones. Class 10 is needed for Full HD video recording only. Manufactures compromise random IO to boost sequential IO...

Depends upon the cell phone and what you're going to do with it.

I run as many apps as possible off the SD card. If you're just going to store music on it, a Class 4's inherent speed won't be noticed.

Class 10 is needed for recording HD videos where high sustained write speed is needed. Another example is taking still photos in raw format in high-speed burst mode. For music, applications, etc. Class 4 cards are normally better because of better random read/write speeds. Manufacturers very often compromise random IO to achieve high sequential write speed. Higher class is important for camcorders and digital cameras. Cellphones is a different story. I would not call Class 4 cards from SanDisk garbage.

All one need do is compare the warranty on these vs. the warranty on Ultra or Extreme.

Here is what A1 SDBench reports for my SanDisk Class 4 MicroSD card in my Tracfone:

Sequential Read: 23.7 MB/s
Sequential Write: 13.7 MB/s
Random Read: 17.1 MB/s
Random Write: 1.1 MB/s

It is more or less what I expected.

I would be curious to see the results for Class 10 cards... Thanks.
