And you know this because... you've met everyone on Slickdeals and know how much money each of them make?

This trollery of luxury good deals needs to stop. Just because the world doesn't fit your narrow point of view, doesn't mean you all can go into every luxury good thread and make asinine comments. Not everybody here is looking to save a dollar on toilet paper and laundry detergent for their family of 12

And yes, I own close to 20 watches and several of them are above this price point.
From what I read years ago....

On the supply side, that is because it really is expensive to make, in a high-wage country, highly accurate and reliable mechanical watches with casings made of precious metals.

The more interesting demand-side question then becomes: why are some people willing to pay a lot of money for highly reliable and accurate mechanical watches with gold casings made in Switzerland?

In general, the quality of products in a given category does not scale forever with price. This is true for virtually every product, not just watches.

At some point along the price spectrum, price ceases to reflect the amount of practical utility. You buy a $10 watch because it tells the time. You may buy a $100 watch because it's less likely to break than the $10 watch. But that's not why people buy a $10k watch.

People (at least, some people) continue to be willing to pay more and more for yet fancier and fancier luxuries, but they do so not for practical reasons but because they are intrigued by the item's beauty or exclusivity or quality, because they want to show off their wealth, because they want to financially support whoever made it, or as an investment.

Some quote the founder of Rolex as having possibly said that "Rolex is not in the time keeping industry, it is in the mens' jewellery industry." Whether or not this is historically accurate, the quote is definitely a great summary of the above.
good deal...must resist shake head

Nice watch. Good price. The movement is a 3612 which has been around a while and done well.

I'd rather have it on a strap than that bracelet, but that's just my taste. /TU

^^^THIS!
I do not understand how threadcapping/trolling any/every luxury deal became the "cool" thing to do. If you do not want to spend $6k on a watch, then move along. Its very very very easy to NOT click on posts that do not interest you. I do it numerous times each day, it is quite liberating and I highly suggest that more people try it.

Hey just buy it now if you can afford. Don't make no excuses about having to wait for a bonus or anything... Either you can buy it now or forget about it...

I always tempts to purchase watches from Jomashop. But the warranty part makes me hesitated. Any person has experience purchased from Jomashop? I believe watches purchase from Jomashop comes with the warranty from Jomashop, not from manufacturers themselves. Am I right?
Thanks
