Spend a few dollars more and get a JP1 remote like the RCRP05B (or RCRP05BR)

RCRP05B/RCRP05BR doesn't need the original remote to find codes because it can be reprogrammed by typing in the special sequence.

There may be better JP1 remotes these days, been out of touch with it for a few years

apparently the Charter URC-1060BC3 and Insignia 67100 are more modern jp1 remotes too

Check what it supports. Doesn't list support for my Acer.

Amazon appears to have price matched Best Buy. Despite that it's sold and shipped by Amazon, I was unable to select no rush shipping on my order.

I have this one and it seems to remove the code every few weeks. The battery slot in the back has space between the two batteries making them come off their beds even if you only drop it softly.

ditto to professorxavier's comment - batteries come out and codes are lost.

I just picked up a Sony RM VLZ620 Universal remote control for about $16.50 to get the learning features. Nice to be able to tweak buttons that don't quite do what you want or are missing from a code profile. Also nice to have macro keys that turn everything off and on together. Works well for me, YMMV.
