HP 750se 980ti REBATE

Alright so I know for a fact that I submitted my rebate info for this deal. It was the FIRST thing I did after I bought the HP Desktop and had an order number. I did not receive any type of tracking info or anything to print out to send in so I figured everything would be handled on slickdeals ends.

I have tried "tracking rebate" using my email and zip but it shows that there is no info for said email. I am a little ticked off right now not knowing if I will be getting my $50 that was promised me. If anyone could help or point me in the right direction, that would be much appreciated!

Hi, please e-mail rebates@slickdeals.net with your order number and PayPal e-mail and we can investigate what happened. The form does not send an e-mail confirmation once you've submitted, but we can verify that every completed form does goes through to our database.

I'm awaiting final resolution by rebates@slickdeals.net on this one.

I've ran into a few folks here that also haven't received this rebate.

To fellow Sders who took part in this promotion:

If you did your part, and you feel it seems more reasonable than not that you did i.e. clicked through HP portal and purchased this unit in that session thereby qualifying for the HP $50 rebate; by all means I suggest you file in small claims against SlickDeals LLC at your local county courthouse. Where I live, it's a $30 fee (+ $10 fee for court clerk to serve them by certified mail); you'll be reimbursed both fees in court upon winning your case, just politely remind the Judge if it's not already self evident.


I suspect if Josh Meyers (CEO of SD and Agent for Service of Process in California) starts getting a bunch of these, that any potentially shoddy rebate practice(s) will not be a worthwhile endeavor for Slickdeals, LLC, and perhaps they'll go back to paying a 3rd party rebate clearinghouse that has a phone number, and accountability. I'm open to the idea they simply made a mistake though.

Check your Secretary of State website search for process agent info. I suppose it is the same, in which case certified mail by court clerk should be sufficient. Feel free to hit me up for more info.

I never recieved a rebate, so I just wrote slickdeals rebate email again..

I emailed Slickdeals and got this:

"Unfortunately, your order currently does not qualify for our rebate since the sale was attributed to another source and we cannot find your order number in the sales data provided to us from HP. This could happen for various reasons, such as clicking on another site during the check-out process or having an ad blocker enabled on your web browser. However, we will reach out to HP to see if it's possible for them to trace back your order, see where it was attributed to, and manually change the attribution to Slickdeals in order for us to validate your rebate. Please note this may take a few days for them to respond to us, so we appreciate your patience."

I guess I still have a chance of getting the $50, but not holding my breath.

They copied and pasted the same response to me a week ago, and nothing. Don't hold your breath waiting.

Here's a fresh one (below). Geez folks, I don't remember 'commissioned through our affiliate channel' being part of the rebate terms, do you? I attached the rebate terms. And in the dozens of rebates I've done in my life, this is the 1st refusal, on such a bogus excuse no less.

It strikes me as odd how much this bunch is haggling over $50, particularly on such a straightforward and easily provable rebate. I can't imagine the directors condone this. We'll see, as I'm submitting to them a demand letter before taking legal action. I have a feeling everyone here did what they were supposed to as well.

Yep. They sent me the same boilerplate response.

Instead of legal action, I no longer click through any of SD's Amazon affiliate links in the Hotdeals forum. Pennywise and pound foolish on their part.

Agreed. It seems unbecoming for a company that ought to know better, what with all the well seasoned consumers here. Perhaps they feel folks have gotten naive what with all the sponsored/ad campaign FP deals of late (many an Amazon brand marketing 'instant coupon hot deal' come to mind). Similarly peculiar that the CEO would list his private 2m Hollywood Hills home address as the process agent for Cali.

They actually seem willing to waste the Court's time on this one, we shall see. Seems more likely than not, that everyone who submitted clicked through SD...

I'm still waiting on mine as well; only I haven't received any info yet. But i got my computer almost a month ago now =P It came SUPER fast, I think I was waiting like a week and half total

If you are enjoying the computer, why worry about the rebate? $50 isn't a huge amount, just forget about it and get on with your life.

I cannot believe people are writing paragraph after paragraph on this minute, tiny, miniscule, insignificant issue!LMAO
