Due to some delays from 2015, I'm thinking 2016 may turn out to be kinda awesome

Here are some releases that I'm pretty damn excited about:

Tom Clancy's The Division - March 8th (Here's to hoping it's far more deserving of Clancy's name than Siege.)

Hitman - March 11th (The delays pit up against The Division which means I might not get it on release day now, but since Squenix decided to be lame and release content "episodically" for it, perhaps it's best I wait on this.)

Ratchet & Clank - April 12th (To be released alongside a feature length film. The catalyst to my PS3 purchase almost 9 years ago. To sum up my feelings best, R&C is my shit.)

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - May 10th (Never got a chance to finish UC3, but with the same creative forces behind my favorite console game of all-time in the TLOU, I'm pretty pumped about this one.)

Mafia 3 - 2016 (With a yet-to-be-confirmed release date, this is almost guaranteed to be delayed past its rumored April 26th release, but here's to hoping 2k can revive a great franchise whenever they do get around to finishing it.)

And finally Deus Ex: Mankind Divided - August 23rd (Hence the avatar change!)

Honorable Mentions
Dying Light: The Following & Alekhine's Gun both releasing on February 9th. (I really enjoyed Dying Light so a DLC expansion of the campaign might be enough to hold me over until some of the above releases and Alekhine's Gun is actually a 3rd release of the Death to Spies franchise which I never really gave a fair shot despite my affinity for the setting.)

With Nintendo releasing a new Star Fox and Zelda, plus several other highly acclaimed sequels, I'm thinking the slate of titles this year will easily surpass what should've been a strong lineup last year. Anyone else looking forward to any of the above, or other games I haven't mentioned?

:) - Quantum Break
see: gifv [imgur.com] + Alan Wake's writers = a home run

:) - Paragon
I hope it will be like Monday Night Combat. Character designs are awesome.

:) - For Honor
Everything hinges on the sword combat being easy to learn and hard to master.

:| - Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
Combat looks improved, but I didn't have the patience for DE:HR. I would like to see a "canon" menu option that would automatically select the official canon dialog in the boring dialog trees. And the graphics/effects could look a little better too.

:( - Uncharted 4: A Thief's End
Was hopeful until I replayed the Uncharted series... not even Uncharted 2 is in my top 10 list anymore. U4's set-pieces look fun, but I think the story is going to be even worse than U3 since they had to rewrite the script for U4 when Amy Hennig left. And sadly the multiplayer looks stupid with all the enchanted power-ups (Uncharted 2's multiplayer still holds up).

I actually didn't care much for the writing in Alan Wake, but that gif looks pretty sweet. I remember seeing trailers or teasers for Quantum Break back when the console releases were announced and it looked pretty sweet back then from what I recall.

As for UC4, if you played and enjoyed TLoU, you might be interested to know that both Neil Druckman and Bruce Straley are directors on UC4. When it comes to writing, the gold standard for me is TLoU, which I don't think will be touched in a very long time.

Achievements are for men who dream; men who dare; men who achieve! Men who carve out entire galaxies with nothing more than nimble cheetos-dusted fingers and their wits, and in our leisurely twilight days we shall sit by softly flickering fires with our descendants recounting the tales of these unimaginable glories.

wow I thought Alan Wake's writing was kinda awful actually but I will say that Quantum Break looks really intriguing.

As for UC4, I know the new Tomb Raider series steals a bit from UC but it has now trumped the UC series (for me). I'm still pretty excited for UC4 but I think they'll need to step up their game to trump Rise of Tomb Raider. Looking forward to checking that out. (The Donald must be getting into my head)

Definitely looking forward to The Division.

Looking forward to Gears 4 (even though I won't buy day one as I don't like Gears MP and will likely be a let down).

Also, isn't Mass Effect 4 coming in 2016? I sure hope so.

Ratchet & Clank will probably be cool.

For Honor looks awesome. Hope it does not disappoint. Really excited for this. (fark, it's by ubisoft? Sigh....crap shoot)

In the meantime I need to get to Life is Strange and MGSV. laugh out loud

Hmm...2016 does look like it'll be an amazing year in gaming.

laugh out loud My bad, that's another big release this year as well. For arpg fans, is bloodborne the pinnacle, or are games like god of war or dark souls better?

Hmmm...DS3. Will probably have to get that too.

Also...Shadow Complex remastered is coming to PS4 and Xb1!!! My favorite XBL arcade game of all time. Will definitely rebuy/replay.

I'm a huge fan of God of War games.....and Bloodborne blew that series away. I never played a souls game though.....I hear they are HARDER than Bloodborne, which is just sick.

Isn't dishonored 2 coming out also? I would be excited about that game as well.

I hope a new GOW game comes out soon! It will be at least a year since we haven't heard anything.

Dark souls 1 is the GOAT. Bloodborne has better combat imo but dark souls gets the nod for other reasons. Both great games. God of war is way different and not an RPG really at all with the exception of choosing weapon upgrades.

So is GoW more of a straight hack n slasher? I've only played one of them on PS3 and dont really recall much of it other than some really sweet graphics.

yes, but a step (or two) above button masher as that would only get you so far. I'm waiting for a nice price drop on the remastered GoW3, which is my favorite one of the bunch.
