You have until 1/26 to port out your number. Not on their web site, Facebook, etc. but confirmed.

Edit 2/1: it's now on the website and it says:

Dear PTel Customer,

We regret to inform you that after 15 long years, our journey has come to an end. We will discontinue offering wireless services at the end of January 2016. We do advise you to port out your number to a new provider. We will still be here to assist you in your move. We are working hard on bringing you options that will come at a reduced or no cost to you. Please make sure to port-out your number before February 5th.

Important Note: As you port-out your number, when asked for an account number or ID, use your 10-digit PTel telephone number, when asked for a PIN, use 0000.
YOU MUST PORT-OUT BEFORE FEBRUARY 5th TO AVOID LOSING YOUR NUMBER

While initially announced as a "begin your port out by 1/26" and "service ends Jan 31st", PTel recently updated their website with info that you have until 2/5 to port out.

They also have some suggestions for alternate TMobile-based MVNOs and offers involving free months, credits, or discounts.

Yeah...I wonder what they'll do about that.

Also, they had deals for $10 sims + free months of service. People were stocking up on those and probably have some left even now.

Perhaps your credit card company that you made the purchase with will refund you some of the cost.

Chat online to know that they are looking into a solution to refund the account balance. Hopefully this becomes true.

I'm actually currently a customer, and surprisingly they gave me this notice a day before my service was up. I shopped for another prepaid and the best one I found was simple mobile, currently offering 60 for unlimited data, 50 for 8 gigs, 55, for 10 gigs.

I was paying 60 for 10 on ptel
