I bought the smaller 14inch for about same specs for $700 total. It's pretty heavy considering there's no DVD drive. the 14 is 4.7lb and 15 is almost 6pounds. I formatted and installed clean window 7, good trackpad and machine. Only complain are weight/ fan noise. switching integrated graphics with dedicated graphics is annoying

But the 14" model is coming with AMD GPU, not Nvidia one. Switching between integrated and dedicated GPU is pretty good in Nvidia cards using Optimus technology.

I am not sure but I think it has one M.2 slot and one 2.5" 7mm slot and the 512GB SSD is in the M.2 slot. In that case you can add a 2.5" HDD. However, 512GB SSD is a pretty big size and what you can do is transfer the files which you're gonna work on to the SSD from your external HDD and then start working from the SSD itself.

Nice Deal all around I do encourage people to buy.

I am personally saving my cash for the Alienware 13 new from CES 2016 same Specs just with a 13 inch OLED Touch Screen. And an x4M.2 Slot and 1 USB Type C port.

Thinking the same thing, would almost want a wacom screen when paying that much. *I know, not so common*

Just an FYI - anyone looking at a light+ gaming or desktop replacement should get a USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 compatible machine. I think thunderbolt3 will be a huge nail in the coffin for desktop machines. Use the laptop's CPU/screen/keyboard/mouse - but tie into an external GPU for gaming at home. So good..

thanks. I don't want to deal with transferring if I can just buy a 2tb hd and install it into the laptop. it'll make my workflow much easier than transferring.

In the specs it comes in a configuration with a 128 SSD and a 1 TB hard drive, so it appears you may be able to do that. If of course you can get at it.
