Use your existing corded or cordless phone(s) and your broadband Internet to make and receive calls over the Internet for FREE (or at a very low-cost).
Via the OBi202's two (2) on-board phone connections, you have the power make and receive phone calls using VoIP services for FREE or at a fraction of the cost a traditional phone company would charge. The OBi202 supports up to four (4) VoIP services like Google Voice, RingTo, Anveo, Phonepower, OneSuite or a multitude of SIP Internet phone services as well as calls to other OBi endpoints via Obihai's free OBiTALK network. The OBi202 also supports the T.38 fax standard for reliable facsimile calls over the Internet.

The OBi202 is equipped with a two-port router with integrated quality of service (QoS). The OBi202 may be installed in a variety of network environments and/or locations where upstream voice traffic needs to be prioritized above other types of traffic like web surfing and uploading pictures and movies.

The OBi202 USB port serves multiple purposes when used with Obihai USB accessory products. Using the OBiWiFi Wireless Adapter, the OBi202 can be placed anywhere within range of an 802.11b/g/n access point. The OBiBT Bluetooth wireless adapter allows a USB-equipped OBi device to pair with a mobile phone so you can place calls and answer calls using any standard home phones connected to the OBi. The OBiBT works with most mobile phones using Bluetooth wireless technology. The OBiLINE adapter allows a USB-equipped OBi device to make calls to a Land-Line Service from Phones Connected to the OBi.

Great price I love ours and my mother loves hers, she has even used it out of country to conduct business and no one was able to tell. She said the call quality after 2 weeks of business use has been better and clearer than Vonage or Magic Jack and she loves the ease of being able to forward her business numbers with relative ease so her customers didn't need to learn a new number and everything worked seamlessly.

They work well. I have used OBI for several years with GV. I have an older model. Considering this model.

i have an wired old 200 with google talk
is a newer 202 any more likely to be able to fax at 9600 or 19200 baud?
my old 200 can't fax worth a damn, despite my low latency 50/5 isp,
and no, i don't want to use a third party pay to fax my email service.

I have one, too... one line rings all my house phones (cordless); plus, three Google Voice numbers... one matching my cell ph., one to my fax machine, and the last one is a dedicated number for a non-profit the I volunteer for.

I also have the Bluetooth module, which I do use. But, for me, it's just a convenience.

I think the most important factor in my purchase was the ability to fax.

I paid $50 for mine a couple of years ago, which I think is the price point where it's definitely worth trying, if you think you need one.

I bought this when I switched over to Google Fiber as they don't offer phone service. Works flawlessly with GV and the reception is clear as a bell. Great little gizmo.

Tempting but isn't this they want you to pay for firmware upgrade?

Yes, the newer 200 and 202 both support the official T.38 fax standard. GoogleVoice officially does not support faxing but most other SIP carriers/providers do. Even with Google voice it works +90%, sometimes you just have to redial, e.g. for international fax. Could just be the VoIP connection. But the box supports faxing for sure. I haven't measured the speed but should be 33000.

Any Obi device will pay for itself, MANY TIMES over in just one year. Amazing when used with Google Voice.

No, firmware updates have always been free. These OBI's are great. I currently have 2 OBI 202 installed. Have been using them for many years now. I really only need the 200, not the 202 with the second phone port. Will probably wait.

Which OBI is that? Usually you just log in and hit the update button or press ***6 to update.
