Slickdeals Rebate Ripoff

TimD9955 3 10 January 26, 2016 at 02:52 PM
Please don't be fooled by the rebates that Slickdeals offers. They will make sure to deny your claim. I purchased the Special Dell Inspiron 17 5000 Non-touch Laptop before Christmas and submitted the only receipt I was provided. They said the receipt was invalid. How convenient. I'm now out $100

as others have said, you need to submit receipt we request, not what was provided to you... usually a packing slip.

Their rebates are designed to create a denial. Shame on them for using a play on words to create a denial. I will no longer fall for this deception.

it's actually the opposite. it's designed to be as simple as possible and if you have a question, all you have to do is email us at rebates@slickdeals.net

you realize that denials = more work for us, and I can tell you for sure, no one here wants to work more than they need to Smilie

If this is accurate then why does the rebate require me to send in an invoice when no invoice is given to me, only the order form which has the same information. I had to request the invoice multiple times before I got it. It is my belief that it is done this way so people will just give up due to the hassle it takes to get the rebate.

was it dell? there is a url where you put your order # and cust # and you get invoice in seconds.

some of them requirements are industry standard, such as invoice copy or upc cutout. the problem becomes two fold. if we have custom requirements, then rebates take longer to process and more errors come up, since rebate team is trained on industry standards

all this can sound like an excuse, but it's not and i have no reason to mislead you... i file same SD rebates as you do...

After denial you have to contact customer service to get the invoice. I had to make multiple requests to get the invoice. This is the first time I have ever had a denial. According to the FAQs the order form should be good enough , name, address, purchase amount, shipping address, credit card info is all there.

simple expanation is industry standard is to make sure whoever files rebate... that they are the buyer, so the address on their rebate form has to match original purchase address.

can you do me favor though?

1. scan me what you had in the box originally
2. check your account on asavings.com to see if you can access invoice there

pm me all the info. if they arent providing easy access, then that's something we can look into improving upon.

Thanks for the follow up. Asavings finally sent me the invoice. I am out of state for a week so I can't resend the rebate info in. The invoice does not have any additional info than the order form I submitted. Asavings should automatically send the invoice if it is required for the rebate. I should not have to jump thru hoops. You keep stating industry standard, emailed order acknowledgements have always worked for proof of purchase along with code on the box. This play on words needs to be clear, a statement on rebate form should state "emailed order form is not acceptable, only the invoice" and vendor should be required to automatically send invoice. This exercize leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Purchased a Tamron 16-300mm F/3.5-6.3 Di-II VC PZD Macro Lens from a 1-13-16 post and SD has denied my rebate! Just the fact that they included the PayPal info in the OP of the next offer for the same lens should be enough to see that it was needed. Most people go by that info and don't download the rebate form until they need to send it in. The post I ordered from did not mention PayPay or say that you had to use PayPal only. Many of us try and make a quick purchase because in the past we have missed out on deals like this. So I called the rebate center and spoke to Alex, he told me just to include the BuyDig invoice and that would be fine, I said "are you sure?" and he said yes. Of all the rebate centers that you would think should be easy going on it's members the SD center is not, the agents say that SD is very strict about their rebate submissions. This goes against the current trend of other rebate centers. And when I have proof that I called immediately after my purchase, before cutting the box and sending all the paperwork in, that should show that I was instructed to send in what I did. I would never just replace a submission requirement with a different one. If he didn't tell me that I could have just cancelled the order and ordered another one using PayPal. Buy now, research later.....not anymore for me. Any help would be appreciated 1320171699191012 .

From 1-13-16 (that I purchased from): "please see attached rebate form for the retails on rebate requirements. tamron rebate requires serial # cutout, slickdeals rebate requires upc cutout"

From 2-19-16: "note, tamron rebate requires serial # cutout, slickdeals rebate requires UPC cutout. slickdeals rebate also needs PAYPAL SCREENSHOT, please see our blog and attached rebate form for complete details
please be sure to click through my links for proper attribution and tracking."

hi arcticat,

it's probably best to contact the rebate team at rebates@slickdeals.net for assistance. as described in this guide, it seems it's helpful if it's formatted like this:

Quote :
If you want to email us with questions about a rebate, please make sure you enter the following into the subject line:
Subject: Problem with Rebate for SKD-##### (offer ID)
Example: Problem with Dell Rebate for SKD-10031
For the body of the email, please include a short description of your problem along with your rebate tracking number so we can forward this over to our rebate processor. All rebate inquiries should be sent to rebates@slickdeals.net.

Recently I did offer SKD-10169 for a Dell Inspiron Micro Desktop

I have to say some of the rebates are just flatout bad with the processing center being used.
I sent in a dell Invoice AND packing slip and yet they can't find the SKU number even though I purposely circled them before sending them in.

Yet i get rejected. It probably is due to the Dell invoices not really reading easy. Its not like people use them to return items. As the only information dell needs is the order number.
