Yeah, I knew that. But since you were bragging you knew about a better deal, I figured you'd know that only deals that are actually, you know, replicate-able, are worth talking about here.
Was about to jump on this too...but after reading several of the recent Amazon reviews, decided to pass.

It seems as this model has a firmware issue that prevents you from playing Netflix and Redbox discs, and that you can't 'update' it just yet like you can with most Sony and Samsung players.

Just a heads up!

Pretty good review on Amazon (4/5 stars). All business (blu-ray playing) and no non-sense ("smart/internet" features)

I believe this is the same blu-ray player I bought for $35 on Black Friday 2014. So far, it has been solid with no issues. It doesn't have any of the bells and whistles included in smart players, but if you want to just watch movies on a secondary TV/in your bedroom, I would highly recommend it.

I'm guessing that this doesn't have any built in apps. Netflix or Vudu built in would be an easy buy.

Bought a Sony Blu-ray/DVD player at Goodwill for four bucks. Works fine, plus it plays SACD's as well.
