Citibank CC bonus on Thank You card?

Thread Details

My wife had a Citibank American Airlines for a few months last year and got 50,000 bonus miles.
Last week week she got an offer for a Citibank Thank You CC with 50,000 bonus points. I don't see anything on the offer about previous CCs, but on line it says the bonus is only good if you haven't had a Thank You CC in the last 18 months.
She has never had a Thank You CC, but did have the AA CC last year.

Is she sure to get the bonus with a new TY CC?

Since it bewilders me how they make money off these things, I expect the worst.

These are two different cards. Shouldn't affect one another.

She should be ok. I've had bonuses from Citi's AA, Premier, and Preferred cards without a hitch.

Agreed - Citi AAdvantage miles are different program than TY points. Enjoy the double-dip!
