What are my chances of finding a 70+ inch curved TV here?

Masondeals 12 10 January 31, 2016 at 10:33 PM
Hey guys, I've been checking this site every time I remember, a few times a week for a few months now, and I haven't seen any TVs yet that are like 70" or bigger, 4k and curved.

Some good flat TVs but I really want a curved one. Can anyone tell me my chances of finding that?

Or recommend a place to find a deal on a TV like that?

I should also add that I'm not looking for a specific budget, I just want a deal/something on sale/some good deal on these big curved TVs.

If I had everything my way, it would be from Sony, or Samsung. It would have a 240hz refresh rate, and be a 4k TV.

Yeah, I know there isn't 4k TV yet and that's still years away, but I'm buying for the future. I would plan on this being my primary big TV for 5-10 years or more (they should last that long).

And yes, I've done my research and do want curved.

Thanks guys! Let me know what my chances are please, or how to find one

What I am reading says to wait on 4k technology since many manufacturers are not following the standards yet. For a TV that large, I would look at projectors.

Lol. I appreciate your attempt to tell me I want something else and help.. but, you know, this site seems cool, but of the 2 threads I've made and asked a very clear question, not a single person has been helpful.

I sold my projector, don't want one. Again, I'm looking for a 70-75 inch TV, curved. My question is, what are my chances of finding a deal like that on Slick Deals. Does anyone know?

uhh... well, this is a deal site. It tracks deals on all sorts of items, electronics included. So your chances are pretty good that any deal on a 70-75 inch curved 4k TV will appear somewhere on this site. You can set alerts you know.

I think maybe you're struggling to understand my question fully. I'm hoping that somebody with knowledge on this website can come in here and tell me in their experience how frequently they see deals for the type of product I'm looking for.

Answers that make sense would be something like:
  • -It's pretty rare, haven't seen one of those in at least 6 months
  • -It's really common, for whatever reason we just haven't in a few months but I bet they will be back around soon
  • -Deals on that size TV are really rare, you're better off just buying whatever is for sale. It's an uncommon TV size so sales on these items don't happen often. I'd just go buy from ___

^ Any of the above answers would make sense

Answers that don't make sense:
  • - You don't want what you think you want, I'd look into projectors
  • - This is a deal site
  • - You'll find deals here so you're likely to find deals (sounds like a broad statement vs you actually having knowledge on the TV section)

Thanks for your suggestion on the alerts though I'll get one set up ASAP!

Hope that helps and thanks again man

They pop up periodically but not as often as 65" or less, here is a Sony from the 28th of JAN http://slickdeals.net/f/8471991-1796-sony-70-class-69-5-actual-diagonal-size-x850b-series-4k-smart-led-tv-xbr-70x850b-store-pick-up?src=SiteSearchMW

albeit not curved... I for one would highly recommend not ordering a tv that size online and buying one from a brick and mortar... Definitely just keep your eye open at Best Buy, frys (Amazon to price match at Best Buy ect..) ads, check online and do a price search for historical prices, right now you will probably find the best deal on what you are looking for with the super bowl this coming this Sunday. Definitely check Best Buy for open box deals which will probably give you the best deal..

BTW I'm pretty sure Sony doesn't make a curved TV so you might want to take that off your post if you definitely want a curved tv

ALSO DID YOU KNOW YOU CAN DO A SEARCH AND SEE HOW OFTEN THEY POP UP!!!! You know

Haha, I'll be sure to send you a PM immediately when I want to win you over as a friend Wink I know you were attempting to help just giving you a hard time and I do actually want an answer to my original question. In my other thread, 5 out of 5 responses were people completely ignoring the question lol you just got the result of it. Not all you.

The TV you posted is actually part of my point. I've been checking this website a ton, I've probably seen 5+ TVs in the last few months that are PERFECT, except, they aren't curved lol. Yeah, I know some aren't fans of curved, after a lot of research I did a few months back, it was about 50/50 for fans and people who think it's gimmicky. It is a little bit but I think I'm a part of that small group that would actually get use out of it. You'd have to see my setup to understand lol.

Anyway, you can actually search items from the past? Didn't expect that, figured search searched current, relevant deals but I'll use that more.

Thanks for your advice man!

If anyone has actually payed attention to curved giant TVs and knows the frequency, please do add to the thread.

So I don't know if the search function actually works that well. I searched the following terms:

70 curved

75 curved

no response for either. That either means search doesn't work that well or there has never ever been a 70 or 75 inch curved TV mentioned in any deal here. So, back to square 1.

Hi Masondeals - I searched back over about 6 months of data and I can't seem to find any posts regarding 70" or 75" curved 4K HDTVs. A lot of posts for 55-60-65" deals. It may be for a few reasons - there might not be a huge market for those TVs, so people don't post them here. Or there might just be a few models that meet that criteria so sales are few and far between. I can't say for sure. That's my take.

Often times our community is very resourceful and will make suggestions that someone might not have thought about. Good luck with your search and if you find a deal, definitely make a post in Hot Deals!

I've been looking for 70+ 4k TV as well for the past year, none really that I've liked. Definitely not curved. You may be better off finding a movers Coupon, (don't know if you can get open box with the coupon), or sometimes they have extra 5-10% off open boxes at best buy. Or use the amazon prime match recommendation from above.

I'm assuming you have a little bit of money, so do the companies as they don't really discount the top tier, top size panels that much.

Summary answer: chance = 0% (if you're looking at past history)

Why are you so insistent on a curved tv? Why not give a price point that you're looking for, that would go a long way to help.

Would it really though? Sounds to me like my chances of finding ANY deal for what I want are slim to none already lol.

As far as price goes.. I don't know. It's not as much about a specific price to me as much as it is finding a sale, as in something that costs less than it normally should.

As far as why curved.. eh, I normally saved money and hate gimmick things but I read a ton of reviews and I think it would work for me and my setup, and it seems cooler. Don't know, if I'm going to drop a couple grand on a TV might as well go big so that there's nothing left to desire, know what I mean?

If I get a 4k 70in curved smart TV, there's nothing more I'll want for a looong long time.

If I go 65 inch flat.. I know I'll be thinking in the back of my head I can upgrade someday. TVs can last a long time, I don't want to make this purchase again. With some weird deep logic, going big actually makes a tiny bit of financial sense.
