This doesn't work with Z170 Intel chips, right? I have an i5-6600k.

The Corsair is better imo, they stand behind their products very well, too. So it for some rare reason it leaks and ruins your mb and other things they will cover it.

Anyone know the difference between the H100i GTX and the H100i V2?

Says new arrival, but the specs seem the same.

Is the improvement significant enough over a hyper 212+ to warrant an upgrade? Would it help me get a few more MHz out of my i5?

Pretty sure both are from the same OEM (asetek), so only difference is rad length. Not really surprising considering most "gaming" peripherals are just expensive re brands. Besides Corsair support on their past products haven't been the greatest also.

I personally would just go air if you can fit it though.

If you're looking to bump up a few Mhz, it isn't worth upgrading and spending more money. I would stick with the Hyper 212.
