JAYBIRD REFUSING TO HONOR THEIR WARRANTY DUE TO A CONTRACTUAL DISPUTE WITH WALMART

I JUST GOT OFF OF THE PHONE WITH JAYBIRD BECAUSE THE BRAND NEW HEADPHONES WOULDN'T TURN ON OUT OF THE BOX.

THE FIRST REP EXPLAINED TO ME HOW THEY WON'T HONOR THE WARRANTY BECAUSE WALMART SOLD IT FOR TOO CHEAP AND THAT IF BOUGHT ELSEWHERE FOR REGULAR PRICE THEY WOULD HONOR THE WARRANTY.

I ASKED HIM FOR A WRITTEN EMAIL SO I CAN HAVE DOCUMENTATION WHEN I GO TO RETURN THEM AND THEN HE TOLD ME HE'D HAVE TO GET HIS MANAGER.

HIS MANAGER, CHASE, SAID HE WOULD LOSE HIS JOB IF HE WROTE AN OFFICIAL STATEMENT LIKE THAT REGARDING THE CONTRACTUAL RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN WALMART AND JAYBIRD AND GAVE ME HIS MANAGERS EMAIL TO CONTACT HIM

HERE IS HIS EMAIL THUBBELL@JAYBIRDSPORT.COM

Real Deal on "Lifetime warranty against sweat"

Please note that Jaybird's "Lifetime Warranty Against Sweat" is complete bull marketing crap...
You can call Jaybird and verify for yourself...

Basically, the "Lifetime Warranty" is based on the lifetime of the particular product. Once the product is "discontinued", there's no more warranty. Jaybird may do a onetime courtesy replacement but that's it....

So... for all of us who just bought the Jaybird Bluebuds X, please keep in mind that this is a discontinued product and essentially has no Warranty. If your unit breaks, Jaybird will give you store credit (based on the current value) to Jaybird's online store that can go towards a new Jaybird headset (where you'll be paying full retail). They may upgrade you but that's only once.

this is what I got from the representative
"We stopped producing that so the lifetime warranty wont be available. But if you do purchase that and have some issues we will help you some how with like a trade in credit."

The "Ready for Pickup" email doesn't necessarily mean it's ready for pickup.
If you get the "Ready for Pickup" email, call the Walmart store and confirm it's on hand.

My store had these in stock for $55.
Here are a few impressions.

1. Sound quality wise, they are wicked, I have had many wireless headphones to work out and these take the prize. The sound fidelity on these is great.

2. Comfort. If you have never worn bluetooth headphones before, they will take a bit to get used to. Once a few days have gone by...you will not even notice that these are on. I use the under the ear set up and I love it. I am yet to toy around with the over the ear set up. Also, the accesories provided (multiple size butterfly rings and ear plugs are great since the allow you to match to whatever your need may be)

3. Battery Life. Jaybird claims 8 hours out of this pair per charge. I found that to be true. I work out for one hour to one and a half hours each day. After an initial drain and recharge, I was able to use the pair for about 7 days before hearing the warning. Once the "Low battery" warning came, it lasted me another 35 minutes before they shut off.

4. Set up. Super easy if you look up Youtube guides. It can be a little confusing at first, but once you watch someone do it right, you can not mess it up. Just be patient. Make sure that you line up things correctly, and enjoy.

For this price, certainly worth it. I highly recommend them.

Also, I apologize in advance. English is my third language (Spanish and Portuguese are the languages I learned as a child/teenager)

Hope that this is to use to someone.
I had a pair of these for a year and a half, and wore them to the gym 3x a week during that period. Sound was good, and they stayed in my ears well. At the end of the year and a half, my sweat finally did them in - by this time, they had been used enough that the chrome plating on the housing had worn off, so I imagine the same thing happened to the waterproofing.

I had bought these from Amazon, so I had my invoice available. I called up Jaybird, jumped through some hoops, and sent my headphones back to them. They sent me a replacement pair at no cost. Since they're no longer making the Bluebuds X, they sent me a pair of the X2 headphones (which come with Comply foam tips in addition to the rubber ones the X has). So, there's your difference - good waterproofing, and a lifetime warranty.

Nice! I had some Jaybirds I returned from buyers remorse (really likely them, but couldn't justify the price). Since then I've wasted abut $30 on the many knockoffs on Amazon--regardless of the 1000's of fake reviews, they suck. It will be nice to have Jaybirds again that really work and really stay in during a run.

Interesting but are these really worth the extra dough compared to the dirt cheap bluetooth earbuds on Amazon? Even at $58 these are still 3x to 4x the cost.

I'd really like to know from anyone with first hand experience.

Edit - Thank you for all your input. Just bought a pair.

I bought the $10 ones off amazon and they do NOT stay in my ears. it's extremely frustrating to keep shoving them deep into the ear to the point where it hurts, only to have them fall of again. I've bought 3 pairs of the Bose headphones but they all keep going on me so I'm going to give these a try and pray they work well

By far the best ones I've ever tried. Made for athletes so they will stay in your ear. I've never spent more then $40 on headphones but dished out $120 for these twice (after i lost one) as they are the best ones around at the moment.

I run 20+ miles in these and they don't move AT ALL. I use comply tips and don't use the little bat-wings. I love these, the price is amazing, and they will ship you a new pair if they die "due to moisture".
