Xfinity Home Security

Does anyone know where I can find a "How To" for installing/pairing the door/window sensors for the Xfinity Home Security system (or maybe someone here knows how to)? I know they say it should be installed by one of their techs but they charge way too much for those sensors (plus an install fee for each and "truck roll" fee).

I've seen people posting where they've installed themselves but never really get into the details. I'm assuming it's because Xfinity will shut that down quickly. I'm assuming it might be as simple as following any prompts on the screen of that touchscreen they give you but I din't want to mess it up and then it require Xfinity to come out and fix it.

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks in advance.

Yeah, currently in a contract.

Who is the Lynx system through? Is it monitored by a central station?

lynx is honeywell. Super easy to install. Its basically what adt uses.

You can get monitoring for a fraction of the cost that you are likely paying xfinity. It runs 10-25 a month depending on whether its landline or cell, and if you want remote control capabilities. You have complete control of the system, you can add any sensor anytime without paying someone a fee for peeling some backing tape off.

I've replaced a wireless window sensor on my Honeywell system. It's pretty easy to do with a little research. The problem is, is that you need to have the installer programming code. That is how the alarm companies will get you. Without that code you are out of luck pretty much and they will charge you to come out and do the work.

In my case, my window sensor wasn't working properly. I called up my monitoring company and the tech told me over the phone some codes to punch in in order to reboot the system. Heh, thanks for the installer code!
