So I got in on that $9 deal that was FP a few days back. Does anybody else have this for the PC? Should I use a controller or mouse/KyBrd?

Was that the deal where you had to set your PC to India as location?

Lol yup, easiest cheap game I've ever gotten! You purchase it then just reset to US and the DL is normal speeds.

I didn't get in on that deal since it's fraudulent to misrepresent your country in order to take advantage of pricing

If you walked into a Microsoft store and asked them to sell you the game for $9 because you live in India that would be quite comical!

I would use a controller

Oh and for the record I would take advantage of a deal like that without any hesitation... I mean if I didnt give that company $9 they wouldnt get any money right? So really instead of some developers kid getting a steak for dinner he is getting a chicken nugget meal... But if I hadnt taken advantage of the "deal" then he would starve to death!

Kyle: Dude! I almost thought those Afghani kids talked you into not liking America.
Stan: No, dude. America may have some problems, but it's our home. Our team. And if you don't wanna root for your team, then you should get the hell out of the stadium.
Kyle: Yeah.
Stan: <salutes the American flag> Go America.
Kyle: <salutes> Go America...
Stan: Go Broncos
Kyle: Yeah go Broncos.
Cartman: Yeah...

Possible, but it bars you from ever actually spending more than that $9. People that didn't get the $9 deal may have gone over to Steam and paid retail. This was extra money that could have been had.

To be fair, the developer has already made everything they are likely ever going to get from the game and all the money is now going to the publisher.

I can't weigh in at all since I never played the first one until it was a less than $5 Steam sale and will do the same for this as well.

As for the original question, it play fine with both. Aiming is easier with a mouse and all the functions are mapped just fine unless you want to walk slowly or something. Controller plays like an xbox game.

Achievements are not for the meek, it is better to forfeit inheritance of the earth so that the mighty may look upon my gamerscore, and despair. Achievements are for men who dream; men who dare; men who achieve! Men who carve out entire galaxies with nothing more than nimble cheetos-dusted fingers and their wits, and in our leisurely twilight days we shall sit by softly flickering fires with our descendants recounting the tales of these unimaginable glories.

I never would have ever probably purchased this game if it wasnt for $9. It'll benchmark my new PC.

Whish is the otherside of the argument that many people forget. Many people immediately assume that one of these discounted games or each pirated game is equal to one lost sale at full price.

That fails to account for people that would have never made the purchase at full price or would never have paid for it at all. If anything, doing the VPN trick may cause one person in another country to not be able to make the purchase depending on how many keys the publisher allowed at that price. That would be the only thing I could see being an ethical issue here.

I am not exactly without fault here though given that I have used resellers such as CDKeys or even GMG in the past.

I think when you're faced with buying something, for example, bread to eat for dinner. If you can't afford it then you go hungry. You work to earn enough money to buy the bread or find legal methods to get it cheaper such as sales or coupons.

You don't lie, cheat, or steal to get it free or at a drastically reduced price?

That's just me....

I got it for free through the giveaway that Anandtech had yesterday. Should I also feel responsible?

There is no fraud here and whoever thinks otherwise must understand some facts. U really believe M$ does not know about it? they are not that stupid. They just let it go because they know in the end the pros ouweigh the cons, the profits outweigh the losses and we all win. ITs always funny to see folks thinking that they are committing some sort of high scale theft. Chances are those folks wouldnt have bought the game or would probably go back to their online store and purchase some additional games at retail price.

Do you really have to ask if winning the game through an official giveaway is considered stealing? WOW

It's a shame that people think "I wouldn't have bought the bread anyway so it's okay to steal it or obtain it fraudulently".

If MS didn't care than why was the price in the US different than India? Because they did care to price it differently?
