Deal Details

GunBuyer.com is selling the Smith and Wesson M&P 15 Sport II 5.56mm 16" Barrel 30+1 10202 for $589.99. Shipping is free.

This is the revised Sport model (hence the Sport II model name) which adds the following:

- Forward Assist
- Dust Cover

The Sport II is now almost comparable to the Ruger AR-556, but still has a 1:9 twist though, where as the Ruger AR-556 has 1:8. For most this likely doesn't matter, but for some this could be a deal killer.

This would be a decent option for anyone who missed out on the $569 deal.

***Despite what the democrat candidates have stated in the primary debates, you CANNOT have this gun shipped to your house. You will need to have it shipped to a licensed firearms dealer. Use this website to find a dealer near you: http://www.gunbroker.com/FFL/DealerNetwork.aspx

What's difference between 1:8 and 1:9 barrel? The amount of twist? Does 1:9 cause more twisting thus less stability/accuracy or something?

The faster the twist rate the heavier a round it will stabilize.

That said- you can over-stabilize if the twist rate is too fast for the weight of bullet you're shooting.

Anyone know where I can get a Good law enforcement discount online for rifles? I have all the glocks I need and these deals seem to beat any LE discounts i can find.

Still cheaper, and no transfer fees, which will run you at least $20-$30 on top.
