Tivo Mini's do not have wifi built-in, they are not standalone -> must connect to an existing Tivo with subscription.

This Roamio OTA requires recurring subscription charges, unless you purchase the lifetime plan.

Keep in mind the roamio requires a service plan while mini's should not.

Correct, but a Mini will not function without a (subscribed) roamio.

That should say IR remote not RF remote.

Still trying to determine if it is worth the $30 to have spare parts for my lifetime Roamio Basic. Besides the power supply, hard drive, and remote; what can I really take from it?

I'd say any one of the components you mentioned is well worth $30 to have as a spare

Requires a service plan to record shows?

What if I only want it to function as a tuner for live TV with no recording function? I have a projector I'd like to connect to an antenna, do I still need a service plan?

Me too... Can you get the parts as cheap elsewhere?

I'm guessing the lifetime subscription cannot be added to these deals? is the price per month $12.99?

For the mini's, what the difference between the "Stream" listed on Tivo's web site and the mini's listed here?

I got a refurb Mini a couple of weeks and was excited to get it hooked up with the Lifetime Roamio...found out that it was not even wireless...kind of odd in this day and age but I have a long Ethernet cable and the router was in the bedroom. And then I find out that the mini will not work with my Roamio unless both of them are hard wired to the router...WTF? I was told that I could buy MOca adapters for like $60 a piece to get them both hooked together. Well guess what is being sent back?
