Does anyone know how to use this with comcast modem that has built in wifi and phone jack ? I have a motorola surfboard modem but because I had to get landline from comcast, I had to rent their modem that also has phone jack. Now I am stuck with crappy wifi router because of the phone service. Is there to use this and comcast wifi modem at same time ?

Very good router. Set up is very easy and the interface is nice. Even the 2.4GHz signal is fairly strong at my apartment, even with all the 2.4GHz interference.

Yes. Call Comcast and tell them to 1. Put your modem in "bridge mode" and 2. Disable the modem's wifi. Now this router will be your wifi

I do this. I turn wifi off on the Comcast modem/router and put the other router (Asus in this case) into bridge mode. The Comcast router will function as a DHCP server but the Asus router will handle wifi duties. Just connect the Asus router's WAN port into one of the Comcast router's LAN ports.

Awesome. Would having the comcast modem as bridge affect the performance of this router ?

No. As a matter of fact, it's to ensure that the full speed reaches this router. If it is NOT in bridge mode (meaning the modems built in router is enabled) then data would be processed through two router's instead of one.

By bridging the modem, you are disabling the modems router and turning your cable router into a dumb cable modem. Complete control passes right through the modem. This provides the router you purchase will full first-hand control over the data.
