Pokemon cards?

Hi all!

My son has become obsessed with Pokemon, and not really sure how it works?!....He seems to be into the "EX" cards...Is there a place you can just buy like a 10 pack of cards?..Do they ever go on sale anywhere?...I remember around xmas, Walgreens had them 40% off, but that is the only place I have ever seen them on sale?...I was looking to pass out a pack to kids as party favors for his upcoming birthday , but don't want to spend a lot on a pack...what is my best place to find these if anywhere on sale?

Here is what I have seen (from my experience.. my son just started getting into it about a year ago, so not a lot to go on.. but might find it helpful). Prices are pretty standard. Most local comic/game shops will sell individual packs for ~$4 and then have buy 3 for $10 or 4 for $12 or various deals like that. If you are going to be buying a lot of packs, then a booster box is the way to go. ~$95 for 36 packs. You don't get a lot variety though (36 packs of one expansion set). Just make sure the box is 'factory sealed'.

From what I have seen, any big deals have been at big box stores (Target, Walmart) and occasionally Amazon. At Target you may find some clearance deals on the tins or box sets but this is strictly YMMV. Around black friday and xmas Target had the tins (includes a tin, 4 packs and a promo card) for $10 which is a steal. I've never seen individual booster packs sell for less than $3.50/each

Hope this helps
