Need a firmware update for my blu-ray player

RUsum1 9,544 1,696 February 14, 2016 at 04:20 PM
Probably a long shot to find at this point, but I'm needing a firmware update for my blu-ray player. It is an Elements EDBCO11. I found some old threads that have a link for what used to be the firmware update, but they don't seem to be working anymore. Does anyone still have that file? It needed to be burned to a CD and then played in the player.

I was going to send them an email from their website, but I can't even select my product.

Thanks

Amazon [amazon.com]is still offering this blu-ray player but the customer revues indicate the company is flaky at best.

I searched and I'm pretty good at searching but I didn't find your firmware, sorry. Frown

Perhaps bumping an old thread, someone might have a copy laying around, worth probably an email and or call to the company too if they are still in business. Did they not have a way to update it online?

Where do they offer their firmware updates? If FTP is an option (and even if it isn't) sometimes companies will put files like this in a directory structure that might leave the possibility of it still being available, just not listed on the website.

Here is a post from the thread from back in 2010. The firmware link doesn't lead anywhere. Just to what appears to be their homepage

Probably looking at buying a new player. I mean it looks like its 6+ years old and was cheap in the beginning. It's the state of consumer electronics and DRM unfortunately.

Yeah, I'd say call them, or contact them on Twitter or Facebook. I'd probably recommend starting with one of the latter.
