How can one DISABLE "Preview-on-selection" on FP

quattro 872 172 February 15, 2016 at 11:37 AM
Although I rarely buy anything without checking SD, I am very tired of the limitations of what I'm calling the Preview feature on FP deals.

All I seek is the ability to open a specific FP deal in a new tab, but can't accomplish that since the Preview feature has been implemented.

Thanks for anyone that can confirm how to disable this feature, or to a Webmaster who, like myself, see benefit in being able to open a FP deal in its own tab or window.

Can you show what exactly you're referring to?

No, I'm sorry, but I can't.I can certainly describe what I'm seeing though:

Clicking on an FP link expands--drops down---the listing so you can select a "Comments" link.

Right-click on that same item and you can open the link in a new tab, which does not show the "comments" link.

Does that allow you to see what's causing my anguish?

Thanks for your interest and effort!

Like Cgrady said we need more details as to which view and which version of the site ( redesign or classic ) ( Grid, List, Simple )

I also think you are meaning to say you click on a FP title, then it expands to show the FP post. I'm not sure exactly what you are trying to accomplish though, but right clicking the title will open up the FP ( permalink ) view, which includes the FP deal, with the thread comments below it. ( same information as the forum view just different style )
If you are looking for the forum/thread view of a FP deal with the FP post 2nd and OP 1st, then you would in fact have to expand the post and click comments or right-click comments to open it in a new tab.

But if you open the deal in a new tab, it would already show the comments; why would you need a comments link anymore?

I don't think I'm understanding what the problem is Smilie
