Best remote desktop software

What is the best remote desktop software these days for strictly screen sharing and taking control of ones PC

This is for remote troubleshooting for my parent's PC that runs Windows 10.

Just need something that is lightweight and works fairly well with not the greatest internet speeds. I don't care about any other features that screen share and more importantly take control of PC. Don't care about file transfer / mobile apps or any such.

Teamviewer or Chrome remote desktop or VNC or Join.Me or anything else?

I thought you needed pro for windows remote desktop.

Chrome remote desktop can be pretty simple if your parents already have Google accounts and use chrome. The price is certainly right. Performance is not top of the line, but it's decent at cable speeds.

RDC does require the pro version of windows, but the remote assistance function works on the home version.

+1 fro chrome remote desktop or team viewer.

Thanks. Went chrome remote desktop.

Also doesn't built in remote desktop require port forwarding on the router . They are going back to their country and it is not easy to get them to do it over phone. Chrome desktop seems easier

Another option would be TeamViewer [teamviewer.com] it's free for personal use.

I used to use VNC and remote desktop but since I discovered TeamViewer not anymore.

TeamViewer is great. I recommend Chrome remote desktop for what you want. I use it to connect to my grandparents computer remotely, it's great because I can connect to their computer without them having to do ANYTHING on their end besides having the machine on. I also use it for many other things, saves me alot of time and it's been pretty solid for the past year.

Yeah I'm all in for Team Viewer and have been for years. I don't recommend anything else.

Have any of you guys screaming team viewer tried Chrome Remote Desktop? After logging in on their computer once, his parents wont ever need to do a thing if he wants to connect in the future. I agree that TeamViewer is a great program, but chrome would be much less of a hassle and all around better in this situation. The chrome remote desktop even gives you better picture lol

I have used Teamviewer before and LogMeiN too.

This time around though I tried chrome remote desktop and based on what I felt (which is also confirmed by few forums), it seems a smoother experience than TeamViewer esepcially when the internet connection ain't that great

Very basic though. But that is good enough for me

I think Teamview is the best option. It has many useful features like send files directly through the software
