OMG NO. I spent a few hours last week trying. Tried all methods from xda. Was able to install the app via flash drive/otg. The app installs and opens fine. You can browse everything but the moment you play something it will crash. I did install the primevideoplayer or launcher. I tried many ways but no success. But honestly, Amazon Prime Video sucks imo lol.

Love the Nexus Player to death. Probably ordered 10 within 6 months for family and friends. Runs Kodi great. Have a otg cable connected to a powered usb hub for my backlit keyboard, usb to ethernet, flash drive and portable drive all running smooth. Using the BB GC I got from ordering my Nexus 6P Smilie

Yes...these are great for running kodi. They can be rooted easily and with a keymap file transferred and pasted into kodi via es file explorer, the remote's play/pause button can finally be used to bring up context menu when needed. Very easy to do and it completes the package. See here: http://kodi.wiki/view/Alternative_keymaps_for_Nexus_Player_remote

The Ethernet adapter is a downside but the real killer for me is you can't watch everything on ESPN which is the only thing stopping me from purchasing.

I kind of hope whatever refresh of this they put out (hopefully this year) doesn't have the Intel x86 Atom processor. I'm sure Google would have rather gone with Qualcomm, but based on this and many of the other devices, Asus is all-in on Intel. I wouldn't care, except Kodi seems like the only app for it which is compatible for hardware decoding of x265/HEVC, and I suspect it's the fault of the SoC.

This is the major reason I've never picked one of these up. With a massive Ultraviolet library it just doesn't do the job, Chromecast is better in that case.

Google blocked the apk on the nexus.

True, it can't run Amazon Video or Vudu. But it's a beast at running Kodi for $50. Upgradeable to Marshmallow 6.0.1 and the interface is very fluid

Got one earlier, got another one again
