Rayovac Sportsman LED Lantern $16 has Rayovac Sportsman 240 Lumen LED Lantern (Green SE3DLNACOM) on sale for $16.27. Free Shipping with Prime or if you spend $35 or more.

Not as cheap as previous FP ($14) ( ) but still a good deal.

Some users have difficulty with the battery cover, especially since the lantern does not come with any instructions. Rayovac has a link to a PDF of general instructions (more than replacing batteries, like how to remove the diffuser cover) on its webpage for this lantern:

Product usage guide (replacing batteries) PDF []

Model: SE3DLNA, LED 4 Watt 3D 240 Lumen Area Lantern []

Yes, it is a PITA to replace the battery cover, because the inner plate rotates freely. Matching the arrows is easy, but fitting the tab into the notch / slot is hard. No need to rotate the inner plate - just press the cover down slowly until it stops and then rotate CW. Also, one can hold down the power/mode button at any time, even in low or high mode, to activate the strobe mode.

Highly recommended. I bought two several years ago at the then very good price of $17.99. I got 4 more at $15.13 and $14.13 for gifts and spares in the last two days.

If you want this, buy it soon. The price fluctuates a lot, especially in the recent month where it has reached several historic lows, including the lowest price of $14.11. You can gamble that the price will reach one of these valleys again, but this is a pretty good price (see analysis below). Past deals, before the recent deals in the last month, have been around $18 - for years.

Rayovac has a lifetime warranty (with some restrictions, e.g. switch) AND a history / reputation of honoring that warranty.

Amazon deals recently have ended early, when its computer pricing algorithm notices a surge of purchases, like the SlickDeals effect. The two previous Frontpage deals ($14.13 yesterday, $16.42 9 days ago) for this only lasted about 4-5 hours after posting before jumping in price to $24.99. However, prices have been fluctuating a lot in the last 4 weeks, dropping to previous deals' price of $18 and varying up & down, then a general decline. Which is why I didn't post a deal (too many SDers TD with "unable to replicate" instead of letting SDers know by leaving a comment that the price went up / the deal is dead and using the "Report Expired" link).

This deal price has now crept up to $16.31 since posted.

If you don't buy now, leave it in your cart to monitor. Low price may come back, but sub-$18 is the usual deal price. (On December 22, 2015, I noted that camelx3 said the lowest price was $17.72 - but again, pre-2009, I have seen sub $15 prices.). The camelx3 average price NOW of $18.87 is misleading - eyeballing the price chart, a median price of $22-23 is more accurate as to usual selling price. Also, the lowest price of $14.29 for yesterday, February 17, is wrong - the Frontpage deal price was $14.13 and the price actually dipped to $14.11.
