Is a NVIDIA GTX 760 Twin Frozr outdated for modern gaming?

For recent games that is. It is also supported by 16GB DDR3, i5 Haswell, and SSD.

Thank you for your help!

The series 980 cards are the current generation, what do you think?

I think that means what I have is older. That doesn't answer the question though. I want to know if it can handle modern games at a reasonable FPS. To help you understand, if a bag of hot cheeto costs $1 dollar, then yes a $10 bill will buy it, but that doesn't mean a $5 dollar or even $1 dollar bill can't do the same job.

Are looking to buy a 760 and asking whether it's a decent investment or are you looking to upgrade and asking if it's worth it?

If I had a 760, I'd probably hold onto it. It runs modern games in 1080p well enough and supports Vulkan/DX12, so technologically you're not going to be left behind. The 960 is not a huge upgrade on today's games and GPUs are going to get a lot more interesting towards the mid to end of this year when AMD/Nvidia finally get their die shrink done (skipping a generation, all the way from 28nm to 14/16nm finfet).

If you're looking to buy a GPU, how much of a deal are you getting on the 760 vs. a 960?

For games like Batman Arkham Knight, Witcher 3, The Division, soon to be released Quantum Break, Dragon Age, Assassin's Creed Syndicate, etc

Okay so assuming you have a PS4, the PS4 acts like a GTX 750. Sure you can play the games listed above but not better than a PS4 would. Your looking at high settings for 40 frames or higher for most of the AAA games.

My point is that only you can decide if your current hardware is "good enough" everyone here can give you an opinion but its your eye candy not ours.

I imagine you will do the same thing everyone else does. Try it and decide for yourself.

BTW use the $10. bill you get more change back that way.
