Update:

new rebate is alive from 3/11 to 3/22 (attach below but here is a file link [4myrebate.com])

this is 1 rebate instead of 2, so it will only require upc cutout/rebate form and pp or ebay screenshot, please see our blog for all details + example on how ebay screenshot should look like

lowest price ever. both rebates expire 2/29

deal [ebay.com]

$1069 - $120 tamron rebate - $270 slickdeals rebate [4myrebate.com] = $679 + free shipping

note, tamron rebate requires serial # cutout, slickdeals rebate requires UPC cutout. slickdeals rebate also needs paypal screenshot, please see our blog and attached rebate form for complete details
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

very good deal on a solid lens. I have a 70-200mm vc from tamron and it's easily my best lens. I also had a pretty good experience with their support over the phone the one time I had to call them.

Am I wrong or can you go directly to merchant and get the same deal without going through ebay?

You cannot get the slickdeals rebate unless you go through it this way. You can get only the manufacturers rebate if you go any other authorized retailer route or site.

I have yes. They are legit as long as you carefully read all the links provided and fill items out as needed. Keep copies and use tracking IMO. Also ask questions here or at the email provided if you are unsure.

Bought this lens open box right after its release for $700 and that was a steal. I love this lens. I've gotten some great pictures with it. My only complaint is that I don't have enough opportunities to use it.

Yes I bought it last round of sales here on slickdeals and at $700 it is a STEAL, it is very very good, long focal length lenses are usually far heavier and many thousand dollars more expensive. Put this together with a D7200 or a 7dmk2 and for just under $2000 total dollars you have a very capable and nice wildlife lens (or sport lens etc)

Well they may be legit, but remember this..

Everyone but you is rooting for you to screw up on the submission.. if you miss an iota of instruction, you are essentially fked and everyone else would party.. "YAY!"

That is the game you are playing with them. Its a win lose, lose win situation. And you can bet that the more the rebate, the more complex the instructions.. Cutout of serial number? Cut out of UPC code? lol.

And even if you send everything by the book, they can still screw you as they have targets for home many rebates they can give out by lying about them having received the stuff, then it would be your word against theirs... the rebate processor is incented on how much they dont give out rather than how much they give out.. so they wait, like a predator for you to screw up
