Enjoy,

...a not so good news if you don't have Prime.

Amazon has increased its free-shipping minimum order amount for non-Prime members to $49 from $35. Book orders totaling $25 will enjoy a lower threshold and ship free.

The retailer last boosted its minimum order requirement in 2013, from $25 to $35.

The move comes as Amazon continues to face steep increases in shipping costs even as it continues to invest in expanding its delivery options and speeds for Prime members.

There are alternatives with free shipping and no sales tax anyway.

When dealing with corporations, it never goes down, only up.

Get used to $50.....as it'll never go back to $35, or $25

Amazon is charging sales tax now in SC so I don't buy from them nearly as much. But I did get 3 years free prime for selling the Fire phones so there is that.

I remember when I didn't have Prime and how difficult it was at times to make the 35.00 limit so they will lose some business for sure.

while there is a small amount of truth in the OP's statement, saying the major reason for the hike is to "push prime subscriptions" isn't exactly accurate.

Anyone who ships regularly knows that rate increases, across all carriers, has gone up significantly over the last few years.

Amazon won't be the only major retailer to up their free shipping threshold. In fact I expect more changes...

I can only imagine the costs they've had to eat to ship things like 45lb kettlebells for free when they were selling them at prices significantly lower then anyone else.

I don't see this as being a big deal,it's just $14. Add an item to bring it up to free shipping problem solved.

Since they started charging tax, I rarely shop there. Their prices aren't competition when tax is included. I shop newegg, jet.com and elsewhere. Amazon is getting suckier year after year.

No, I don't think so. Many of us aren't suckers to pay them money for the incentive to pay them more money. But feel free to give all your money to Jeff, he loves people who can't count.

I pay for a shipping service and it's called prime. I get most of my needed products cheaper with amazon and with hundreds of orders per year with them I pay on average $.25-.50 per order for it to be shipped and sitting on my door in 2 days no matter if it is a $.40 item or a $2000 item that weighs 92 lbs. I think I can can count just fine. I understand you'd rather find ways to get something for nothing so I imagine you'll get many more opportunities to learn to count. I accept all people can't be good at math. Maybe one day, if you keep trying hard, you'll be smarter than a fifth grader.
