Couples things

-This is a true 8-bit panel, so the colors are much nicer and closer to IPS/VA than TN panels you've used in the past
-The coating on this screen is fairly aggressive, and some people may find it too grainy
-Dell recently had this for $566 with a $200 Dell gift card

Overall I think this is one of the best monitor choices if you have an nvidia card. Current-production high Hz IPS have a lot of manufacturing problems along with the typical IPS drawbacks.

Yeah, considering 24" is about 80% cheaper. You could almost get a quad display for this price.

Granted, I'm not gaming, so I'm not knocking the deal. I'm just hardpressed to justify the math on these ultrawide monitors. Two side by side is so much easier for the rest of us.

Add G-sync to the title, then people will understand the price.

This is a really good value for a true gaming monitor. TN color shifting is very slight and not noticable when you are sitting directly in front of the monitor while gaming.

Bought this monitor when it launched (and paid a fair bit more for it) and highly recommend it. It fits a fairly specific use case, but if it checks all the right boxes for you it's a fantastic monitor, TN panel or not. The grown up design, G-Sync, and multiple inputs are great. I went to this monitor from a TN 4K Samsung and haven't looked back.

One of the primary advantages of going with Dell's gaming monitor is much better quality control than the Acer or Asus lottery (at least this was the case when I bought in November).

This is not an ultrawide monitor.

TN these days should be a dealbreaker.

Care to elaborate as to why? Is there a better deal somewhere out there that ain't TN and yet comparable in all other aspects of the Dell?

Why for the love of god would you prefer a TN over an IPS these days? Buy once, cry once. Except instead of crying, you'll be rejoicing.

You seemed to answer without actually answering. Thanks I guess.
