Unfortunately, it has 8gb of ram. I think macbooks are overpriced but i'm gonna TU just to offset your inability to read.
Heads up. Apple is having an event March 15th and could be updating some of their laptop lines.

Apple people- is this a good deal?
I need to buy my first MBP, for as cheap as possible for a quality unit. Lots of these are $1600. Also I am trying not to pay California tax which eliminates Amazon.

Considering it's $300 off. Yes. Although this is most likely because they are going to announce new ones in March but if you don't mind that it will be the "older model" soon then you should go ahead and buy it since $300 is one of the bigger discounts that is typically seen on MBPs.

This is a good deal, $200 cheaper than if you buy direct from Apple with an education discount. This is tempting, but Apple MIGHT reveal new MacBooks in a few weeks.

Either way, this model at this price is still a good deal.

All new Apple products carry the same 1 year warranty regardless of where they are purchased.

You can check the warranty online using the serial number. Most likely you can enter the date you purchased it, if there isn't a date already. Have had the system request I send in my receipt a couple times with various Apple stuff I bought, probably cuz the date I entered didn't match with their timeline
