Hi - I have plan to travel internationally and my flight depart from ORD. I live in central IL and planning to take one way rental to ORD. Heard one way rental will always be costly and rental car sites suggest the same. If there a way to good deals on One way rentals?

Pl suggest

Do not rent from the airport locations, find a location several miles away. This can cut the rental price by half. ex:I rented a car from Las Vegas to Phoenix for one week it cost $335 last year, if I got it at the airport and dropped at the airport it was $700 even with AAA booking it the price was over $700....So I took a taxi to picked it up OFF the strip.

Stay away from payless tons of surprise added fees and lots of complaints due to it.

Try Hertz lots of coupon codes on line for them, plug them in until you get the lowest price possible, Skip the insurance if you car insurance covers you (check with your agent) or if your credit card covers it. Fill the tank up before you return it or pay very high fee for them to do it.

Ditto that neighborhood locations are sometimes cheaper for one-ways.
Also, this is probably not "convenient' but could be cheaper - try pricing a (SMALL) moving truck? Then arrange to take a cab/uber from the dropoff point.

better be a CORPORATE location. Neighborhood locations don't like to part with their inventory

The trick to one way rentals is to find a code that allows a no fee dropoff. Some codes I found online would permit this and make the rental possible without a $100 drop fee. Look for large corporations or government codes, but remember when using them, YMMV and you can end up completely jammed if the agent questions you on the use of the code.
