VOIP Phone/provider that supports Sidetone

fenderman 2,399 877 March 3, 2016 at 06:55 PM
I am looking for a VOIP provider and phones that support Sidetone - that is, having the voice of the person speaking into the receiver repeated in the earpiece like analog phones. I see some cisco phones support sidetone, but I wonder if the provider has to support it too.
Thanks

I would think that could be handled internally by the phones. You may have to tweak settings.

I thought so as well, but i think on some phones it has to be set by the provider in the config file they send to the phone. Not sure.

with OOMA you can use an analog phone with no issue if it is really important for you.

According to CISCO the phone can adjust the sidetone:

Step 4 Select one of the sidetone levels:
• Off
• Lowest
• Default
• Low
• Mid
