Seems like a solid price comparing to other places like amazon. I don't really have much need for this right now, but it's a good price.

There is a starter kit which has the base and the bulb for 22.49, which is better than the bulb for 9.99 plus base for 17.49

Solid, need some bulbs for the wink hub that are not just ZigBee for range. Checked and these should be compatible. Hopefully I don't get a call from Lowe's saying they are not available as I have on past Lowe's deals. Ordered from two stores in the area just in case. Thanks!

So what is the base used for if it connects to a smarthings hub? The bulb only communicates with the base? If so, how many bulbs can one base drive?

Found one answer:
Control up to 50 ZigBee compatable LIGHTIFY products per gateway

Been wanting to get into smart bulbs controllable by my phone. These look to be a great way to get started with the price at only 10 per bulb. Is there anything else I need, or can I just put these in my light fixtures and go? Then they'll also work with the light switches as well? Newbie questions, I know. Thanks.

So is the base required for the bulb to work? If I am starting out, should I be getting this?

http://www.lowes.com/pd_751720-3-...t=lightify

Do I need a different hub for each room? each floor? Thanks.

According to ST forums and reviews these are actually Zigbee based why it says Wifi I dont understand unless its referring to the base itself.

That aside yes you will need a hub to get started if you do not have a Zigbee home automation controller. and the hub should cover most of the house.

This is a good deal to me.

Does lowe's not carry any Bright White (~3700K) or Daylighy (~6000K) Lightify bulbs? I do not see any. I know that Sylvania makes them but they are close to $40 on Amazon.
