Potentially $15 cash back at Top Cash Back too:
  • 1. Follow the offer link in the original post, copy the resulting page URL (should begin with "https://www.freedompop.com/offer/" followed by the device/offer name), and close the page without purchasing
  • 2. It is recommended to clear your browser's cookies or launch a new browser at this point, to start over with a clean slate
  • 3. Go to the Top Cash Back site, sign up or sign in, then click the FreedomPop link which takes you to the main FP site
  • 4. Now in the same browser tab/window, replace the main FP site URL with the direct offer URL you copied in step 1, and go to that URL
  • 5. From that offer page, purchase the device as you normally would, and you should get a notification of the cash back within 24 hours

While logged in to your FreedomPop account (or viewing your FreedomPop order status page?), click these links and follow the prompts to downgrade your plan/service to free (works for domestic devices/plans, not sure if these same ones work for the global device).
Downgrade to the free plan: http://www.freedompop.com//accoun...ngradePlan
Remove premier service: http://www.freedompop.com//accoun...adePremier

Best support options:
  1. private message the user "FreedomPop" here at Slickdeals
  2. private message the admins (currently Jorge M. and Karina Magana) at the FreedomPop forums: https://forums.freedompop.com/
  3. give the above users adequate time to respond (at least 1 business day)
  4. if they haven't responded after 1 business day, use https://getservice.com to call FreedomPop customer service on your behalf: (888) 743-8107

I ordered this when it was $49.99 back on February 14th hoping to get it before going out to Spain in 2 weeks (they say shipping can take 10d). They also charged $9.99 for shipping. Item still shows as Preparing Shipment and has been there for quite some time. Looks like I am not the only one with this problem with a quick search in Google and visiting the Freedompop's forums.

I haven't seen any reviews for this global service or read about any people receiving the global sim (that sold out in minutes) and shared with us their experience. I am pretty sure no one got one of these to even try out.

Has anyone received their order for either the global sim or this mifi? And if so, how long did it take?

If anyone is interested in Freedompop phones, I would definitely buy through a 3rd party - Newegg, eBay, Tanga, and etc... I got an s3 from Newegg and a g2 from Tanga and both arrived promptly and activated no problems.

Or it this like the international phone that only comes with 200mb? So can you get the friends, plus the friend shared data and get 1200mb with this device?

I understand this device doesn't get LTE speed, just HPSA/HSPA+ speeds.

If you cancel the trials, and downgrade to the free plan, you will not incur a monthly charge. Our free plan for this Global device is 200MBs per month.

Thanks FreedomPop, for the info.

USER: If they allow friends feature on this service, I will gladly take it. Even say if they cap it at say 500MB.

FP: Even with our Global service, you can earn up to 500mbs each month from adding friends.

Unrelated question, does this work in the Caribbean? Not a big deal, just curious for next time we take a cruise.

This device only gets 3G. Mine is getting T-Mobile HSPA+ in the U.S. It seems to be really fast 3G, so it is still a bargain at this price. I paid more.

They state:

"What countries can it be used in?
It can be used by U.S. and U.K. users in 25 countries including the United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Austria, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Ireland, Portugal, Greece, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria and Czech Republic.

We plan to expand coverage to over 40 countries by end of year including parts of Asia and Latin America."

The thread I linked to early had a big fight over 3G/4G. Apparently, HSPA is 3G and HSPA+ is 4G. It isn't LTE, but the + speeds are supposed to be similar.

There was some talk that they device probably is served by AT&T since T-Mobile was the only other possible provider and they already have a similar plan like this. Whether that is true, I have no clue. Chances are if it is AT&T, Freedompop likely would be looking for a lower cost option going forward.
