Seller refurbished is not manufacturer refurbished. So, aren't these basically used phones?

random ebay guy with over 100k feedbacks? vs swappa where most users have like 10 or less? and you know the guy that is selling on swappa right? yeah, makes total sense.

I have recycled 35 of these iPhone 5c phones over the past months, and resold the gift cards at Cardpool netting about $30 per phone for a total of about $5000 in credit card spend for sign up bonuses and over $1000 in profit, so I feel obliged to share a couple of data points. First the process takes ages if you are trying to move any volume. With one phone Brightstar will assess the value and send you the GC within days, but if you send them a stack of 10 phones, it could take many weeks before they complete the assessments. Second, I was speaking with a Brightstar CSR, the other day to confirm that they had received a shipment, and he informed me that they are now imposing a limit of two recycled phones per person. Guess that puts me out of business... Frown

So you get a gift card that can ONLY be used at Apple? Hmmm....not sure about that one.

Sell/trade it in. You'll get a 10-20% haircut but will still be in the money. Personally, not worth the hassle but it's an option.

This is an Apple e-Gift card as well which have slightly lower resale value than physical gift cards if that matters to anyone.

that is a surprisingly good deal on a refurb iphone. Even if you just bought a bunch to resell on craigslist you could make money

Yes it is. A quick look at Swappa for unlocked 5C shows starting at this same price. So you get a free case and whatever you take 'seller refurb' to mean in this day and age. Many of the lower end 5C deals on Swappa show a lot of nicks and scuffs.

I just traded in 2 iPhones, otherwise I would think about flipping some.
Spend $270 then trade in to Apple for $130 profit.

This is probably a good deal on this specific iphone (specially if you want to trade it in for a newer model). But for keeping, I would rather get a nice android phone for $200. I think 4" screen is too small nowdays, 4.5" is minimum for me.
