I was waiting for this free battery promo to pop up. How does the 80 volt compare to the 40 volt? Mostly interested in the line trimmer.

I use a Greenworks 80v blower and it works great! The battery looks (and I suspect is) identical to this one. Anyone know for sure if they're interchangeable?

I read Lowes specify the mount different. Got this promo last year, blower is great!

No, the Kobalt and Greenworks batteries are not interchangeable.

Great deal on these Kobalt tools.

80V is what is needed to get these garden tools to match their gas counterpart. I have the blower and the mower and i can say good bye gas. I use to have power voltage tools and have sold those after getting these.

Which tool are you talking about? What brand has 35 minutes of runtime? What ECHO and at what price?

The Kobalt chainsaw has great reviews, and with two batteries will be able to take care of a lot of work with much less noise and pollution as compared to a gas model.

The 80v Kobalt trimmer...35 minutes

The ECHO is about 1hr-1.25hrs
(about $260.00 at HD) Probably better made also
You might want to wait for a free battery promo with the ECHO

The 80v Kobalt trimmer, made by GreenWorks, with the free extra battery would have an equivalent run time according to your source. It costs less than the 56v Echo and with two batteries, one can be charging while you use the other so you could theoretically go all day.

I'm holding out for 300 volts. Of course, then I'll be kicking myself when the 500-volt models come out.

I bought the blower last summer when it came with the extra battery. I also bought the mower which comes with two batteries. I've only had to use two batteries so far. I can mow my entire yard with one battery. The blower works as good as a gas blower. Run time depends on blower speed. Batteries charge in 30 minutes or less. Batteries on kobalt have slightly different grooves than greenworks, but I think you could modify the slot on the tool to make them work. Would of course void your warranty. If I can get a good deal on a greenworks trimmer with no battery I will probably try it.
