They have a Toshiba 49" for same price + FS too: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/toshi...Id=7437034
A 50" for $300? Sure it pops up from time to time but common? No way. I downvote your downvote.
you can't really compare a tube tv to a flat panel tv. I have 23 year old tube tv that still runs good. those things run forever. plus back then there wasn't so many parts that could go wrong with a tv also I think workers had more pride in their work and tvs were made better back then. just my 2 cents

Personally I've had good luck with Insignia. I bought one on BlackFriday 2007 and it's still going strong.

Question, I ordered the 49 inch Toshiba the other day but have yet to pick it up from Best Buy. Do you guys think this TV is a better deal as far as quality?

IMO, Toshiba has been a quality brand over the years.

I just suspect that the Insignia brand is a way for BB to peddle more cables, extended warranty etc.

I've actually still have my first flat panel TV from 07 which is a Toshiba, plus I am using a 46 inch Toshiba now with no issues. So I guess I should stick with what I know lol

I have a 1999 Toshiba Tube TV I donated last year that was STILL running when I replaced it with another Tosh, flat screen.

So I definitely put my money where my mouth is Big Grin

Ive never had any issues with the few insignia TV's. I would never use one as my main TV but they are great for a bedroom TV. It should come with a year warranty, I say if it lasts that long it will at least last a few years.
