Thread Details

Hi all, I am interested in purchasing the PS4 version of Final Fantasy VII that came out last December.

As far as I know it's only available as a digital download through the PlayStation store. Every time I've looked at it its $15. Do game like this ever go on sale? If so, is there a way to track them so I don't miss out?

I really enjoy the game but can't justify paying $15 just yet since I have a large collection of games I'm currently playing.

It was on sale for 11.99 the week it was released if I remember correctly. I do not think it has been on sale since.

Thank you. I wasn't sure if games in the Playstation Store went on sale regularly or not as a fairly new PS4 owner. I wish I would have had my PS4 at that time.

Any idea if a game such as this would be likely to receive another discount in the future?

There was a Square Enix sale on PSN at the end of January and the PS4 Final Fantasy 7 was not a part of it. It might be a few months, but the game is likely to go on sale again before the summer ends. Even more likely to go on sale if the FF7 remake starts getting hype in gaming news again.

If you own a PS3, PS Vita, or PSP and dont care about trophies, then the ps one classic Final Fantasy is only 9.99.

I enjoy the PS4 version as it allows me to speed up the text scenes. I am unsure whether the other versions allow you to do that.

The ps one classic version does not have the speed up option. Thanks for pointing that out. I had forgotten about that.

It's really impossible to be sure, it may show up in some kind of Spring sale, but there's no rhyme or reason, per se.

have you tried price tracking sites like psprices.com? It gives you a games price history. and you can sign up to get notified when a certain game dips in price.

Thank you! I wasn't aware of that site actually. I just signed up for it. This is exactly what I needed! Out of curiosity, do you have any idea if they have something similar to this for Nintendo or PC?

If you throw it into a Steam wishlist you will get notified if it goes on sale. No idea on anything else.
