newegg has this combo for 169$. all you need is a Logitech K400 and you've got a fantastic htpc.

before anyone starts talking a mess this product will work fine for Kodi without any issues. I currently have a couple of J 1800 mini PCs and they stream 1080 without a problem

out of stock

If you install Windows 7 on this, be sure to go into the BIOS and set it to Windows 7 mode and not Windows 8. Otherwise the installer will BSOD.

I don't see how marketshare correlates to the quality, stability, and functionality of an OS

No one really cheers for microsoft, they use it because the office productivity tools are what they are used to using, or because it's what their IT departments are used to administering, or because they want to play games (Linux is catching up in this field actually)

By all means, keep on blindly bandwagoning... just realize that others may have different experiences than you

A viable alternative to buying an OS was suggested, and it adds to the discussion.

I can't believe you think that. Linux, Mint and elementaryOS are amazing for being a free product. Elegant and simple to use to boot.

Looks like a great deal for a tiny, yet fully functional system. Review from Anandtech [anandtech.com].

If you're buying this don't forget you'll need an OS. So budget for that if you're buying one.

grab a linux distro. definitely not a gaming machine so no need for Windows. highly suggest linux mint with upgraded kernel (4.2) or the newest ubuntu distro 15.1 if you have an issue with the wifi driver on Mint. mint is rediculously stable, but I feel like ubuntu does a better job implementing the newest kernels.

Would this work well as a machine to run bots on 24/7 for some automated tasks I need to get done?

Android is for ARM chips. This is a celeron (x86). So, android will not work unless it was ported over.
