Got $1200 credit for replacement Best Buy TV. Help me decide!

daubers 78 26 March 8, 2016 at 12:44 PM More Best Buy Deals
Greetings! After a long battle with best buy they finally upheld warranty policy and junked out my 4 year old 60" Sharp Aquos. I got $1200 to use for a new tv and have to decide asap. I don't mind kicking in a little more if it is worth it. I also really hate to go less than 60" , after all, size does matter Wink. With the limitation of having to be from best buy and over 60", what would you buy? Thanks!

I can't seem to find any great deals but the M Class Vizio seems like a good potential option for not much added cash. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/vizio...Id=3858039

Don't they give you store credit that doesnt expire?
So no rush. Just wait for next slickdeal.

Also, Go bigger if you have the space for it. my 60inch seems so small these days ;(

And get your hands on a 10% off movers coupon to use with your purchase.
Buy it off ebay if you have to.

For 1k. Leaves you with money to buy the PSP service plan although I would buy from square trade with a coupon. or not buy it at all .

Unfortunately Best Buy doesn't make it convenient at all ( like with everything). I can only use the credit in store, no additional coupons and I have to asap to replace my dead set. From what I can find once I got above 65" the price goes way up, but a 70" would fit my wall so nice!

That was the first set I looked at, but wasn't totally sure on it. Also I was told that I don't get to keep a refund, just "up to" $1,200. While I have had many experiences with being told false info there, it was portrayed to me as a "use it or lose it" type situation.

That really makes no sense (well it does because its from stupid bestbuy random employee #25242)

I would get clarification on exactly whats up with your 1200 store credit.

Are they giving you 1200 from a PSP service plan that you had from your previous TV?

The 1k Vizio is really good. The only difference from the 1350 vizio seems to be the refresh Clear Action 720 technogy.

Is that really worth 350+taxes more?

The 1k+tax+buy tv plus buy their PSP will probably be very close to 1200 or a few dollars out of pocket.

Thanks for your input. I agree that there is probably more to it. It took me months and countless hours on the phone and "geek squad" appointments to finally get them to honor the replacement. To be honest I am not interested in purchasing their protection plan again. The only reason they even honored this was was on the 4th trip for the same issue, the tech scratched my tv really bad so they had to replace.

My main thing I guess was between the D Class and the M Class. I had read the M Class was considerably better but my tv primarily is used for kids shows and netflix so no need to be a videophile on it.

If I can use the store credit for what I please I may even snag the $999 D Class Vizio and a cheap smaller tv for my camp Wink

So it really comes down to d65u-d2 vs m65-c3.

While I don't care about the 120 vs 240 refresh rate ( as that is WAY overhyped ) but I am not sure about how much of a difference these will have:
* Local Dimming Active LED zones: 32 vs 16
* Dynamic Contrast ratio: 20M:1 vs 2M:1
