Catalina info-What are shelf, sale, price plus prices? credit couponmami
  • There 3 prices at SR:
    • 1. Shelf, the price on the sticker on the shelf
    • 2. Sale, the price of the item on sale, no price plus card needed to get the sale price
    • 3. Price Plus price, card needed to get the item at that price (usually a limit of 4 per variety or must by 2 or 4 offers and so forth)
  • When calculating which prices to use to obtain a oyno cat (pay $$, get $):
  • The only time you can really calculate a "spread" is if the item is on price plus discount, then it would be calculated on the pre price plus price (which would either be the sale price or the shelf price, the lesser of the two). Usually items on Price Plus discount are also on sale from their regular shelf price, and then discounted further by use of your card. So you would have to use the pre price plus card price which is usually the sale price when calculating to obtain a $$ wyb $ CAT.
  • If the item is on sale, and you don't need a price plus card to get the sale price, then you would use the sale price in your calculations.
  • How to tell the difference when looking in the ad:
  • Sale - When looking in the ad, if there is NO price plus card and in a red circle/starburst it says "Save $.$$" or "1/2 price".
  • Price Plus price - When looking in the ad, if there is a price plus card icon and in a square with red on top and white on the bottom it says "you save $.$$", then the item is on Price Plus discount.
  • Lastly, you could always ring a transaction without scanning your card, to ensure that the total meets the minimum needed to receive a $when you buy $$ CAT. Then scan your card and your coupons

oh gosh my store in White Oak MD is making feel like a NoOb all over again by coupon haters that seem to have picked up lots of shifts at CS and front end Frown. Two questions:
1) Can I get a RC more then once in a sale week on a different day that they don't have the product in stock? MOL-CS was trying hard to deny me and then wanted to call the back for it when I had already talked to the person in charge of stocking. Then she asked for the specific flavor. "You shouldn't get another since you already got one Sunday. This is not my store, so I won't argue".
2) Can I use a mq w/ a SR supercoupon? Kills me that I got another 99c Pirex pie plate SR superQ and I'm scared to stack when the dude supervisor is in the front end.

TIA hug

Uh,,, the SR way, giving customers difficulties ( well not all stores). Sorry to hear your store is following suit on legit things.

At my store if you ask for a RC, even if you have spoken to Store manager in aisle or product and God on your way up front, they will still call someone to make sure they are out before they write you a RC. I have gotten two different ones for two varieites, but have not asked for more at mine, and mine is 100% by the books as its owned by the Wakefern head honcho.

As far as I know you can use a Store Q with a mfr q as long as the Super Q is a store Q. We never get Super Q so can't speak from experience, but thought they were all Store ones, but something to check first.

BTW, been to Target 3 days in a row with same cashier and she still does not recognize me cause she asks me every time if I want a Redcard. I tell her everytime I have one already.

I would tell CS person its the first time you shopped there this week, must have been your twin sister lol. Or better yet your triplet sister.

I don't know why they are so picky about giving out rain checks. It seems like they have to get permission from the Pentagon before they approve your rain check request. Whats up with that Shop Rite . . . .

This week some Post cereals are on sale for $1.99. I bought the Alpha Bits that had the Super Why character on it and printed on the inside of the box is a $.75/1 Alpha Bits coupon. I ran out to the car and opened the boxes and went back for more. Makes the $.49 a box if your store fully doubles. I did buy a Fruity Pebbles too but there was no coupon in there this time. (Fruity Pebbles was bought with a different coupon...NOT the Alpha Bits coupon.)
Why would someone just buy sugar and fattening foods just because its on sale and you have a coupon?/ I know, I am a 48 year old married male who shops for the family. The alphbits discussion got me thinking. About 4 years ago SR had Alphbits for .99 cents (i know) and I had coupons making them free. Also, i ate all sorts of ice cream and dairy etc. Needless to say , 1 year later, (2.5 years ago) i developed diabetes which was attributed to all the sugar and fats I ate. My weight ballooned to 228 from 185/I was and still am 6'1". With help of my great doc and numerous blood tests, meds and diet, I am down to 182 and am no longer diabetic and and off the meds. I t feels great to have changed my eating habit. Just because an item is on sale doesn';t make it a bargain if your health suffers. If you are healthy now, you won't be in a few years if you keep buying junk. I know. I always bought ice cream and candy and cookies because it was 1/2 price and I had coupons. SR sells tons of healty foods if you look. I eat low sugar and low salt cereals/low sugar peanut butter/ fat free dairy and tons of grilled chicken(watch the salt) I also love Dunkin Donut coffee and no longer give in the coupon for the free donut at the bottom of the receipt. What satisfaction walking out of DD without the free donut. The foods advertised day in and day out are going to kill you slowly. Most people don't know they even have diabetes. I was symptomless except for being thirsty and tired all the time. The blood tests don't lie. Ex: this week I have a few 1.00 off Breyers and SR has it for 1.99. In my old days i would stock up. Now I will buy the sugar free and if they don't have it I get nothing. Not even a rain check.I also snack on Murrays sugar free cookies. I feel great/ like I did 4 years ago. What a feeling to fit into jeans i could not wear for 2 years!! I also don';t read the ads from any supermarket too much, because they get you want to buy fatenning and saltfull items.

Went to get the BE Voila last night--it was $4.49 at my SR. Where is it $2.99? I printed out the $1.75 coupons just to take advantage of this, but no luck. Maybe I'm mixed up and don't have time to read back through the thread. A similar thing happened last week with the Brillo--my store was not $1.49 (it was $1.99) for the 10 count. Wonder why this is happening.

I don't know if you're targeting me or just making a general public service announcement, but I'll respond since you've quoted me. I have 4 kids who are all on the low side of the weight scale in relation to their height, they're very active kids and my oldest son is actually hypoglycemic. We eat pretty healthy for the most part but I see nothing wrong with foods containing sugar...in moderation. My husband and I stopped buying soda years ago when we realized that we were fine living without it and our kids have grown up not having it. Yes, I will let my kids have whatever cereal they want for breakfast because I know that they're eating a healthy lunch and dinner...and yes, I will let them have a piece of candy after dinner or 2 scoops of ice cream or a small piece of pie or whatever we have because it's in moderation. I make their lunches for school everyday because I don't llike the high sodium lunches that the schools offer (though they have gotten better with having healthier choices.) We don't eat junk non-stop just because it's in the house, maybe that's the issue that you were having. I would actually rather my children have the "regular" ice cream than the sugar-free because saving the extra 60 calories and 3 grams of fat isn't worth the additional 16 chemical additives. I'm glad that you've been able to control your weight but I don't think coming onto the board and belittling people who don't shop like you is very productive. I was just trying to share a deal and let other people decide if it's one they would like or not, for you it's obviously a "not". Next time you could just skip over it instead of bashing people who like Alpha Bits. Thank you.

You're supposed to load savingstar first. But if you accidentally load the shoprite ecoupons first you can go onto savingstar and remove your shoprite card number, load the coupon and add the card number back on...I've had to do that before.

Kikkoman 0.50 ip from wwp is a beeper on Tempura crumbs and did not double for me on Panko crumbs (it does not say do not double anywhere)
Quote from slowtech View Post :
that coupon doesn't match up to the panko breadcrumbs or the tempura batter. i forget what the register said. the supervisor punched a lot of buttons and scanned her card and they both doubled today.
Quote from chipilota View Post :
I see the coupon at the wounded warrier site for .50 off any kikkoman product and has the bread crumbs in the picture. Its still there for me

That is the one not doubling at SR? Uhhh. Could use a few, but I guess .49 is not such a bad price.
I'm not sure if the Kikkoman coupon from the WW site is the one that's good on the panko. But there was one that was good on ANY kikkoman product and pictured panko.and soy sauce. And there's another out that is specific to sauce I think.

I used the one on ANY product today on the panko bread crumbs (regular not the tempura). I'm pretty sure the coupon just did not scan at all. The cashier just manually entered them.

I had kind of an odd cashier today. She wanted to look at all my coupons ahead of time so she could check the items as she scanned them (she didn't match them up with each item, she just remembered that she had seen a coupon for each item). Then she scanned all of them. It actually worked out well because if a coupon didn't scan she just push it through manually. Easier than trying to find an item in my bags after a coupon beeps. I had a lot of coupons today but she ended up being pretty efficient. And she actually bagged all my frozen and refrigerated items in my freezer bag. Baggers usually never even put all the cold stuff together.

I got an email that I can get the black Friday (and Saturday) toy deals early starting tomorrow and that those deals are loaded onto my card. I think the Laugh and Learn Puppy (fisher price I think) at $7.49 is a pretty good price. And a cute gift for a young toddler, I know my kids like theirs.

I almost forgot, in my store there was a cardboard display next to the kcups with dark chocolate cafe escapes kcups on manager's special for $4.49 (1/2 off). Then on the regular shelf there were tearpads for $2/1 any cafe escapes. $2.49 for 12 ct kcups is pretty good (20 cents per kcup).

I also found a TP in the sweet potato display for $.50/2 jet puffed marshmallows (there were also marshmallows in the display). Doesn't expire until 12/13/2013.

I so agree with the comment of "the sugar free thing".....These are the worst!!! We stay away from this and for the other poster I agree as well but eating healthy is not eating any fat free and sugar free products, they are all loaded with eiher more sodium or chemicals (read the labels).

Nice find on the Kcups, I wish my store had them marked down.

I know someone answered you already but this is ridiculous. I would write. Shoprite and complain its not your fault that they do not have adequate stock you would have purchased the item each time you were in the store and only happen to want 4 of that one flavor (can only use 4 coupon) that's what I pull if they start that sometimes it works. But most times if its a super hot deal ill run in and get RC ever day few stores. Some new employee getting on their high horse again looks like to me!!

2nd night shopping and my store didn't have my size butterball turkeys in yet !! I'd rather pay that extra plus get the $5.00 rebate from paper Smilie
I just saw a $3 coupon for Butterball Turkeys on Slick Deals home page. Didn't pull it up, so I don't know where its from.

Does anyone know if the purchase of the gift card deal will be credited towards the holiday turkey/ham/etc. I am just trying to plan ahead because I am trying to max out a few cards for people.

Thanks in advance

I also don';t read the ads from any supermarket too much, because they get you want to buy fattening and saltfull items.
I often find myself falling into the trap of buying more of an item just because it's on sale or free with coupons, telling myself that I'm stocking up for the weeks when it's full price. Then either of two things happens: I either overindulge in the item or have to throw it out because I have more than I need and can't use all by best by date. I've had the latter happen a few times with the Earthbound Farms Salad, which I will buy for $1 or so when on sale, but really it's not a good deal if I don't consume it all.

Also, apart from a few items (such as Earthbound), most of the stuff that is cheap or free is not healthy. I know you have to be careful with sugary foods, but personally I would prefer to eat a small amount of good ice-cream than a low-fat, sugar-free ice-cream.
