Catalina info-What are shelf, sale, price plus prices? credit couponmami
  • There 3 prices at SR:
    • 1. Shelf, the price on the sticker on the shelf
    • 2. Sale, the price of the item on sale, no price plus card needed to get the sale price
    • 3. Price Plus price, card needed to get the item at that price (usually a limit of 4 per variety or must by 2 or 4 offers and so forth)
  • When calculating which prices to use to obtain a oyno cat (pay $$, get $):
  • The only time you can really calculate a "spread" is if the item is on price plus discount, then it would be calculated on the pre price plus price (which would either be the sale price or the shelf price, the lesser of the two). Usually items on Price Plus discount are also on sale from their regular shelf price, and then discounted further by use of your card. So you would have to use the pre price plus card price which is usually the sale price when calculating to obtain a $$ wyb $ CAT.
  • If the item is on sale, and you don't need a price plus card to get the sale price, then you would use the sale price in your calculations.
  • How to tell the difference when looking in the ad:
  • Sale - When looking in the ad, if there is NO price plus card and in a red circle/starburst it says "Save $.$$" or "1/2 price".
  • Price Plus price - When looking in the ad, if there is a price plus card icon and in a square with red on top and white on the bottom it says "you save $.$$", then the item is on Price Plus discount.
  • Lastly, you could always ring a transaction without scanning your card, to ensure that the total meets the minimum needed to receive a $when you buy $$ CAT. Then scan your card and your coupons

FYI, you can load $11 on a SR gift card. If the cust service person balks at the $10, rather than waste 15 minutes of your time getting it "fixed" by a higher up, just say, ok put $11 on it, pay $1 oop and be on your way. You'll get your $1 back when you redeem the GC and it's certainly worth $1 ( to me anyway) to avoid the hassle/wasted time.
Yes I know, I was even considering putting $10.01 on the card. But the ad does says get a free $10 gc. It just annoys me that people who don't know any better are given faulty info. I could see first thing Sunday morning cs and fem not knowing about the deal, but by Thursday you would think at least someone would have a clue. And it was mostly the attitude of the fem that bugged me. No apology, no smile, no nothing. He looked at me like I was a con artist or a thief.

Where you finding the 20 packs of Coke? I looked in the soda aisle at my store but I can't find them.
My store had only the regular coke in 20-packs boxes next to those 12-packs.

Good luck in dealing with A&P. Worst cs ever, at least that's how it was before all the stores around me closed. Hmmm, ya think maybe the poor cs led to the store closings? I sure do.
I believe you about the poor CS. One I went to was fine I bought $500 of GC's and received the $60 of cats.

The second store I went to try do this treated me like a criminal when I wanted to pay by CC and offered to write a check for $500 gc's. She said you can only get $75 unless you pay with cash or debit card. This is a big no, no blah, blah, blah. When I worked at Target in college i was alway told that a check was considered cash. I guess not anymore.

Also most of their prices are terrible. Oh well I shouldn't complain to much since I was able to do one deal and I now know which store to go to in the future.

Just redeemed my first $10 SR gift card cat. The CS had no clue, and the FEM said I needed to get a gift card more than $10. I showed them the ad that says get a $10 SR gc and I got a look like I was trying to rob the place. You would think that someone else would have done this deal by now since it is Thursday.
I went to the CS desk and handed her my cat and told her I wanted an SR GC and she did it in under a minute with no problem! Wish all transactions at SR could be this way.

Doesn't work at SR but a lot of the people in the SR forum shop at Pathmark. I bought a $500 Visa GC at PM today and got the $60 in cats. Great deal!

Ed...I was able to pay for my GC with a credit card no problem.
My local PM had a different person @ cs this morning, she had no problem letting me pay with cc (I was stealthy, and swiped the prior gc, after it went through she asked to see my cc and driver's license, which is their standard procedure, of course I showed her my credit card, from my wallet, not the one I paid with, so no hassles). more cats!

I'm sorry for your loss hug

But in thinking $60 is a lot to spend with prices continuing to rise and deals becoming more scarce if you have room you could pick up non-perishables to keep your overall costs down. It's just me and a college aged daughter who isn't really home. I'm going to use the CATS to load up on laundry detergent, paper towels, toilet paper and my bodywash that there is never any really fantastic deals for. I didn't do the deal last year for the same reasons last year but I'm all in this time Big Grin
I've been hammering the CVS deals for years, so it sets off a spasm in my brain to hear someone paying full price for those things you listed. I have enough of those things to last a looooong time! You should check out the CVS threads here on sd - it's pretty easy to figure out, the wikis spell it all out, and soon you'll be stocked up to the point of craziness with all those things.

The gc's actually have 'Debit' printed above the visa logo on the bottom right corner of the front of the card. I considered covering all the rest of the face of the card other than 'debit' with a sticker, so if they insist only debit card payment for the gc, I can flash it at them and say 'see, debit!'. probably not a great plan though.

Oh I do but I just started grad school and I can't chase the deals as much as I used to so when something like this comes up where I can get these things w/o a whole lotta "extra" (and I know it really isn't that much) legwork, other than rolling these GCs, then it's just easier at this point for me.

That is so funny. I just got home from doing the same thing! Cashier asked how I was paying and I said cash for the activation and credit.I then swiped the Visa GC I bought last time. Technically you have to hit "credit" after you swipe the GC so I wasn't lying. She asked for my credit card and ID and I gave her my Mastercard and ID after putting the GC in my purse.
The $20 cat requires an approval code but I went through SCO and had no problem. Gotta love free food!. bounce

I'd like to know, too. I am late to the game. I was going to attempt it tonigh. I thought I'd check here, first. If it doesn't work I'll probably dump the conditioners and the cats at CS and get a refund.

Money,

I know it's frustrating, but sometimes, it's just not worth the hassle or the time spent fighting it. Not to mention, all the CS desks at my stores were FLOODED with lottery ticket customers with the power ball prize this week....so I'd rather invest that same time on finding another deal, rather than sweat over giving a dollar so I can get my gift card and go on my merry way. as the saying goes, nothing's perfect, and this promotion surely isn't, so at times, the path of least resistence is the best one to walk down.

I think I'd save my energy fighting over something more substantial than the principle of not having to give any money OOP to get a $10 Shoprite GC.

You're right. And normally I don't bother to argue over little annoyances. It's just been one of those days. I got another cat today, so I'll give it another go tomorrow. This time I will grin and bear it.
Oh and my store can't use powerball as an excuse because they don't sell lottery tickets!

HI there!

Has anyone tried (for the P&G $25 get $10 GC deal) the ladies Gillette Daisy razors? Noticed today that they are also on sale for $6.99 like the mens we've been buying. They come in 10 or 12(?)packs and at my store they had "1 Free Venus Razor" inside.

Wonder if they'd work, too.
