Easiest laptop to physically disassemble for RAM/SSD upgrade?

bokey 1,764 163 March 10, 2016 at 03:10 PM
I've been a longtime fan of Dell simply due to the easy disassembly for upgrades but they're just awful to deal with. The only other laptops I have are both Acers, the newer one is a nightmare of a screw and clip detaching clusterfog.
I'm just looking for a ~$400 15.6",1920 x 1080 that I can open up easily to swap hard drives,etc.
Basically something like this Dell that isn't a Dell.I can't deal with them. It's just for the web, streaming video to my HDTV and running recording software in my studio. Thanks

Check out Sager (rebranded Clevo). I've bought two from xotixPC.

Here's the manual for one of mine. It includes the instructions on how to disassemble it for upgrades (with pictures):

Well.....I have 2 Dell 2-in-1 tablet/netbooks. Easy enough to upgrade ram and drive. But thats all you can upgrade. Battery life is actually pretty good, I can watch live streams just fine.
