Office max(IN-STORE) has the white ARRIS SURFboard SB6141 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem on clearance for $36.93 plus tax, retail $100.

FYI: The black version of this device has reached it's EOL if you're leasing from COMCAST/XFINITY, purchased versions should still work fine though.

Read this: http://thewirecutter.com/reviews/...ble-modem/

There were many other internet connectivity devices on clearance as well.Like the NETGEAR R6200 for 46 bucks.

YMMV and B&M

The FYI part means that if I try to set this up at home (I know Comcast doesn't allow using your own modem for businesses, hate them for that), that it WON'T "be allowed"??

Also, TU OP. Will try to check at some point next week, I'm assuming this is a good price
And this model WILL work with Comcast?!

Comcast/XFINITY doesn't and will not support any future firmware updates on that particular device(black version) and therefore this renders the device pretty much useless..don't know about other ISP's though.

The item number for the OP is 317008 and inventory can be checked on

I am using a cisco dpc3010, picked up a sb6141 a while back since my dpc3010 was acting up (only did it for 2 days)
is there any advantage to the sb6141 over the dpc3010?
I have cox and am not on the medium package speed

8 channel modem, will work fine with xfinity as it supports speeds above 300. Xfinity currently offers a 2GB plan for $300, which has few requirements, being a certain proximity to their fiber optic, up to 6 week install, $500 set up and 2 year contract.

With all the talk of future proofing, for 37$ an 8 channel modem should be fine for a few years, even if xfinity introduces a 500MB plan, the cost will take some time to level out keeping most people in the 150MB range.
