If you want to discuss the pros/cons of shopping at Wal-Mart do that here.

Let's try to stay focused on any great deals to be had when you combine a coupon with a regular-priced item. YYMV on the actual prices at Wal-Mart but they should be fairly close. If your store has an item with a very different regular price, please put it in the Wiki so we can compare the price variations to see if this is even worth it. We may as well not even post clearanced items because that is definitley going to be widely different per store.

There is no weekly ad to work with so we're going to have to add things from what we see when we are there. So please keep an eye out when you're at Wal-Mart next for any hot deals.

Wal-Mart accepts the following types of coupons (see guidelines below):
* Manufacturer coupons (Cents Off)
* Free merchandise (or Buy-One-Get-One-Free) coupons
* Store coupons
* Pharmacy (Advertising and Promotional) coupons
* Internet coupons
* Soft drink container caps

The following are guidelines and limits:
* Wal-Mart only accepts coupons for merchandise we sell and only when presented at the time of purchase.
* Coupons should have an expiration date and be presented within the valid dates. Wal-Mart will not accept expired coupons.
* Internet coupons should be legible and say "Manufacturer Coupon." There should be a valid remit address for the manufacturer and a scannable bar code.
* Only one coupon per item is permitted.
* Use of 40 or more coupons per transaction will require approval by Customer Service Manager.

***YMMV on internet coupons. Some stores won't take them at all, some only take 1 per transaction and others take as many as you have. If you run into any trouble you can try showing them a copy of their coupon policy, but there is still no guarantee they will take internet coupons. Click on "Wal-Mart Coupon Policy" above to see it on the actual Wal-Mart website.

Guide to Wal-Mart
  • Use the SCO (Self-Checkout) to avoid coupon scrutiny
  • You cannot get an overage at the SCO's
  • Go to a regular cashier if you plan on having overage
  • Go to a regular cashier if you have a bottle cap
  • You can only use $20 worth of coupons at SCO
  • You can use up to $40 worth of coupons at a regular check out (Without Manager Approval) - (You can use as many as you want with approval)
  • If your coupon doesn't register as being inserted in the coupon slot at the SCO then blow in the slot
  • Some SCO's are coded to only accept 1 of each coupon and will need cashier approval.
  • Some SCo's are coded to need cashier approval for coupons with a $3 or higher value.
Wal-Mart Price Guarantee
If an item rings up for more than the price on the shelf WalMart policy is to give you $3.00 off the price the item scans for. If the item is less than $3.00 you get it for FREE. One item per $3.00 discount. YMMV as some stores will just give you the price difference instead of $3.00 off
NO MORE PRICE GUARANTEE AS OF JUNE 2008

Our Ad Match Guarantee

En Español [walmartstores.com]
We’re committed to providing low prices every day. On everything. So if you find a lower advertised price on an identical product, tell us and we’ll match it. Right at the register.

We gladly match the price in the following types of ads:*
  • Buy one, get one free ads with a specified price
    • Example: Buy one for $2.49, get one free (BOGO)
  • Competitors' ads that feature a specific item for a specified price.
  • Preferred shopping card prices for specific items that are in a printed ad.
  • For fresh produce and meat items when the price is offered in the same unit type (lb. for lb.; each for each)
*The following are guidelines and limitations:
  • We will match any local competitor's advertised price.
  • We do not require customers to have the ad with them to honor a competitor's ad.
  • Items purchased must be identical to the ad (size, quantity, brand, flavor, color, etc.)
We DO NOT match the price in the following types of competitor ads:
  • Items that require a separate purchase to get the ad price
    • example: "Buy [item A] to get [item B] for $C"
  • Items with no actual price that require a purchase to get free product
    • example: "Buy both [items A & B] to get [item C] for free"
  • Items that require a purchase to get a competitors' gift card
    • example: "Buy [item A] to get a $B gift card
  • Buy one, get one free (BOGO) ads with no actual price given
  • Going out of business or closeout prices
  • Percentage off
    • example: "All mascara, 40% off"
  • Competitors' private label price promotions
We do not honor:
  • Ads when the actual price for items cannot be determined.
  • Internet pricing
  • Misprinted ad prices of other retailers
  • "Going out of business" sales or "close out" prices

It has come to our attention that an original intent of a manufacturer's coupon(s) has been compromised and it is being discussed on the slickdeals.net forums. Discussions of how to profit from a coupon mistake should not be discussed here. if you wish to discuss the coupon(s) mistake, please use another forum. Slickdeals.net does not condone discussions of how to perform, elude capture or profit from unethical and perhaps illegal activities. Any users caught creating multiple account(s) will be banned immediately, no exceptions.
  • Please do not ask (even in a covert way) for any coupon that has been scanned or discuss any coupon that is not used for it's intended purpose. This goes for ALL scanned - this is what ALTERED means. NO POSTING about CWS, "37000" coupons, SPICY, or DECODING list of coupons.

  • Users who do ask or discuss any coupon that is not used for its intended purpose will be subject to warnings. This is because we do not want to punish those who do legit deals by being forced to close this thread down.
Moderator Reminders
  1. Do not directly post to Ebay Auctions.
  2. It's considered self promotion because we don't have a way to verify if you are the seller or not.
  3. Mod Alert any fighting! We'd rather catch it in the beginning, versus going back 5 pages to see what happened.
  4. Do not discuss or promote unethical and/or illegal activities with coupons or GCs (ie using expired coupons, using fake coupons, etc.).
  5. Click here for how expired coupons will be handled on here. (Credit goes to kel_be). In other words they will be handled the same way as they do for the Target Thread.
How do I let someone know they've posted a no-no?
  • If you feel it would be beneficial and helpful to the thread as a whole, go ahead and post an answer. But if you need to correct someone on an etiquette issue or on coupon use, try PM'ing them first. That avoids embarrassment and negative posts. The mod's are watching our thread closely--we want to keep things helpful and pleasant.
  • Please do not ask (even in a covert way) for any coupon that has been scanned in or is not used for it's intented purpose. This goes for ALL scanned (from a scanner) manufacturer coupons. This is what ALTERED means. NO POSTING about "37000 coupons", SPICY, or DECODING list of coupons.

Common Abbreviations & Acronyms Throughout the thread, you may find some abbreviations and acronyms that are confusing, as some are very specific to Walmart. Here are some of the most common you'll see mentioned repeatedly.
  • AC = After Coupon(s) (as in, "I used 4 JJ MFQ's and 3 AF ETQ's, so my total AC was $1.23.")
  • BC = Before Coupon(s) (as in, "My total BC was $56.78.")
  • HTH = Hope That Helps
  • J&J = Johnson's & Johnson's or Juicy Juice
  • MQ = Manufacturer's Coupon
  • OOP = Out of Pocket
  • PA = Price Adjustment
  • PM (first meaning) = Private Message
  • PM (second meaning) = Price Match
  • PP = Polly Pocket
  • Q = Coupon
  • SWM = Super Walmart
  • WM = Walmart
  • YMMV = Your Mileage May Vary (as in, something may or may not work for you)

Yep and 2 stores had big displays for U kotex. I had to go back to regular Kotex aisles to find more boxes of Tampons because the display was almost empty. The peelies are bright pink. 2 out of 3 stores had the display.

And credit goes to Nicalai's post here at walgreens thread: http://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=49618112&postcount=373

thanks! so happy that tampons have been paying for my wipers, fluid, mats. hmmm, next are tires? bounce

My black Friday PMs from CVS and breathe right 2pks paid for my kid's new tires (set of 4) at SWM EEK!
God, I miss the good overage qs!!

As a side note, many strips of the BR 2pks have resurfaced, as well as the mysteriously vanished Allegra freebies. We had shelves full of Allegra up until the day before the q came out (we didn't even get the stinkin' thing in our region), mysteriously disappeared by 7am the day it came out and mysteriously reappeared the day AFTER the q expired!!!

Am having a spot of bother using the SB refreshers mq . I have 2 finally, and tried using last night. Cashier denied me using it saying" You are using the same like coupon, we do not allow it".
Manager came over and reiterated the same thing. He said it is one per purchase, his definition is that in order for me to use 2 coupons, I need to make 2 trips to the store. Left the SB there.

you should carry P&G coupons w/ you. they say, *LIMIT ONE COUPON PER PURCHASE of products and quantities stated. LIMIT OF 4 LIKE COUPONS in same shopping trip.*

this is the retail definition of purchase.

Don't mean to just come out of hiding without a Wave hello

WM is just so far that I can rarely make it there. But I think Kotex and Palmers will make me take all 3 kids with me laugh out loud Good thing Target and Kohls are right next to it because the 45min drive will need to be worthwhile with my boys in tow.

How about the coupon policy here [google.com] that says no limit per transaction..but I guess they can tell you, one of each ...and then no limit is how many coupons you use total. But at least it introduces "transaction" in the policy vs "purchase" on the coupon.

I'll try to see if there are any good finds at "my" WM to share Big Grin
thank you all hug

Head over here [coupons.com] to print $3/1 any Spectracide. Sort by 'household' to find quicker. As usual, you are able to get two prints. Q expires at the end of May.

WM carries the smaller size of Spectracide Bug Stop for $2.88, so FREE + 12 cent o.
They also carry the smaller size of Spectracide Weed Stop for Lawns for $2.97, so FREE + 3 cent o.

Asked the AM at my local store about PM'ing Wag Kotex and she has no clue how it should be done and said they don't PM'ing stores with RR, UP or ECB. They would PM the sale price of $3.99 but don't know how to handle the $3 RR OYNP and said that's a coupon printed at the register and can only be use at Walgreen. They had a meeting yesterday for 2 hrs on PM'ing but this was not discussed. She said she would talk to SM. Oh well...

I read the policy and can't find anything referencing that. tia
http://www.walmartstores.com/10563.aspx

highlighted in blue below but doesn't mention anything about RR/UP/ECB.

We gladly match the price in the following types of ads:*

Buy one, get one free ads with a specified price
Example: Buy one for $2.49, get one free (BOGO)
Competitors' ads that feature a specific item for a specified price.
Preferred shopping card prices for specific items that are in a printed ad.
For fresh produce and meat items when the price is offered in the same unit type (lb. for lb.; each for each)

You can't get ECB's and UP's without a shopping card at CVS and RA, so that pretty much sums it up as a "go" for PM'ing those items AFTER the ECB and UP price, right? Well, the same can be said for RR's. At least that's how both of my WM's see it. They match the "after" price. Smilie
