If you want to discuss the pros/cons of shopping at Wal-Mart do that here.

Let's try to stay focused on any great deals to be had when you combine a coupon with a regular-priced item. YYMV on the actual prices at Wal-Mart but they should be fairly close. If your store has an item with a very different regular price, please put it in the Wiki so we can compare the price variations to see if this is even worth it. We may as well not even post clearanced items because that is definitley going to be widely different per store.

There is no weekly ad to work with so we're going to have to add things from what we see when we are there. So please keep an eye out when you're at Wal-Mart next for any hot deals.

Wal-Mart accepts the following types of coupons (see guidelines below):
* Manufacturer coupons (Cents Off)
* Free merchandise (or Buy-One-Get-One-Free) coupons
* Store coupons
* Pharmacy (Advertising and Promotional) coupons
* Internet coupons
* Soft drink container caps

The following are guidelines and limits:
* Wal-Mart only accepts coupons for merchandise we sell and only when presented at the time of purchase.
* Coupons should have an expiration date and be presented within the valid dates. Wal-Mart will not accept expired coupons.
* Internet coupons should be legible and say "Manufacturer Coupon." There should be a valid remit address for the manufacturer and a scannable bar code.
* Only one coupon per item is permitted.
* Use of 40 or more coupons per transaction will require approval by Customer Service Manager.

***YMMV on internet coupons. Some stores won't take them at all, some only take 1 per transaction and others take as many as you have. If you run into any trouble you can try showing them a copy of their coupon policy, but there is still no guarantee they will take internet coupons. Click on "Wal-Mart Coupon Policy" above to see it on the actual Wal-Mart website.

Guide to Wal-Mart
  • Use the SCO (Self-Checkout) to avoid coupon scrutiny
  • You cannot get an overage at the SCO's
  • Go to a regular cashier if you plan on having overage
  • Go to a regular cashier if you have a bottle cap
  • You can only use $20 worth of coupons at SCO
  • You can use up to $40 worth of coupons at a regular check out (Without Manager Approval) - (You can use as many as you want with approval)
  • If your coupon doesn't register as being inserted in the coupon slot at the SCO then blow in the slot
  • Some SCO's are coded to only accept 1 of each coupon and will need cashier approval.
  • Some SCo's are coded to need cashier approval for coupons with a $3 or higher value.
Wal-Mart Price Guarantee
If an item rings up for more than the price on the shelf WalMart policy is to give you $3.00 off the price the item scans for. If the item is less than $3.00 you get it for FREE. One item per $3.00 discount. YMMV as some stores will just give you the price difference instead of $3.00 off
NO MORE PRICE GUARANTEE AS OF JUNE 2008

Our Ad Match Guarantee

En Español [walmartstores.com]
We’re committed to providing low prices every day. On everything. So if you find a lower advertised price on an identical product, tell us and we’ll match it. Right at the register.

We gladly match the price in the following types of ads:*
  • Buy one, get one free ads with a specified price
    • Example: Buy one for $2.49, get one free (BOGO)
  • Competitors' ads that feature a specific item for a specified price.
  • Preferred shopping card prices for specific items that are in a printed ad.
  • For fresh produce and meat items when the price is offered in the same unit type (lb. for lb.; each for each)
*The following are guidelines and limitations:
  • We will match any local competitor's advertised price.
  • We do not require customers to have the ad with them to honor a competitor's ad.
  • Items purchased must be identical to the ad (size, quantity, brand, flavor, color, etc.)
We DO NOT match the price in the following types of competitor ads:
  • Items that require a separate purchase to get the ad price
    • example: "Buy [item A] to get [item B] for $C"
  • Items with no actual price that require a purchase to get free product
    • example: "Buy both [items A & B] to get [item C] for free"
  • Items that require a purchase to get a competitors' gift card
    • example: "Buy [item A] to get a $B gift card
  • Buy one, get one free (BOGO) ads with no actual price given
  • Going out of business or closeout prices
  • Percentage off
    • example: "All mascara, 40% off"
  • Competitors' private label price promotions
We do not honor:
  • Ads when the actual price for items cannot be determined.
  • Internet pricing
  • Misprinted ad prices of other retailers
  • "Going out of business" sales or "close out" prices

It has come to our attention that an original intent of a manufacturer's coupon(s) has been compromised and it is being discussed on the slickdeals.net forums. Discussions of how to profit from a coupon mistake should not be discussed here. if you wish to discuss the coupon(s) mistake, please use another forum. Slickdeals.net does not condone discussions of how to perform, elude capture or profit from unethical and perhaps illegal activities. Any users caught creating multiple account(s) will be banned immediately, no exceptions.
  • Please do not ask (even in a covert way) for any coupon that has been scanned or discuss any coupon that is not used for it's intended purpose. This goes for ALL scanned - this is what ALTERED means. NO POSTING about CWS, "37000" coupons, SPICY, or DECODING list of coupons.

  • Users who do ask or discuss any coupon that is not used for its intended purpose will be subject to warnings. This is because we do not want to punish those who do legit deals by being forced to close this thread down.
Moderator Reminders
  1. Do not directly post to Ebay Auctions.
  2. It's considered self promotion because we don't have a way to verify if you are the seller or not.
  3. Mod Alert any fighting! We'd rather catch it in the beginning, versus going back 5 pages to see what happened.
  4. Do not discuss or promote unethical and/or illegal activities with coupons or GCs (ie using expired coupons, using fake coupons, etc.).
  5. Click here for how expired coupons will be handled on here. (Credit goes to kel_be). In other words they will be handled the same way as they do for the Target Thread.

Did you find the clearance price on line or in store? Used one coupon the other day, but didn't find any clearance signs. Didn't expect to, so wasn't looking for them.
Will look around when go back to use the other coupon. Too bad I could only print 2! Can always stock up on oil, we do alot of oil changes for the family.
Yeah $13 was the clearance price I found in store. I'm just linking to the online page so that y'all can check store inventory and also see what the jug looks like. I wish I had printed more.. DH did it from school once and I hadn't printed from home Frown

I don't think this has been mentioned, but I found a great rebate for $10 back when you buy 3 products from Pfizer. It was in the 8/26 redplum insert that includes any ProNutrients. :-)

Yes, but it doesn't have to be postmarked until 10/15, so if you still have receipts - you can send it in if you haven't already. ;-)

For those near the Frederick, MD stores ... they are loaded with $1 Beneful trial bags. I got my last 23 there thanks to an awesome employee at the Germantown store that looked up the area for me heart
By the way...the Super WM in Frederick is awesomely clean and organized but there is no more clearance aisle Frown Christmas junk is up. So I ended up just cashing out the O at the register and the cashier did the override herself. She forgot to scan 1 q (I always count the receipt before i leave) and the CS was even nicer w/ the missed q. It was easy peasy which was a total surprise to me OMG so there is a way to do missed coupons easily w/out the freakin' "return the item and apply the q, call 2 CSM and yell at the register for beeping" that happened at another store for me. Luckily, I just focus on keeping my kids in-line until the "team-work challenge" is over LMAO. I'm will dub myself "coupon policy knowledge tester" Teehee

Walmart to start same-day delivery and price-matching Amazon prices....

Wal-Mart Delivery Service Says to Amazon: 'Bring It'

<snip> In its latest bid to take on Internet powerhouse Amazon.com Inc. this holiday season, Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is promising same-day delivery in some cities for orders placed online.

Called Wal-Mart To Go, the service costs $10 regardless of the size of the order. The products will be shipped from the company's stores, not from a warehouse or distribution center. Wal-Mart began testing the same-day service last week in Philadelphia and northern Virginia.

It added Minneapolis on Tuesday and will add San Jose and San Francisco later this month. The trial will last through the holidays.

Good luck with that, Walmart. laugh out loud

That's strange. I order online from Walmart all the time, and they've never cancelled an order.

So I have no idea if this has been mentioned but..our store(SW MO) s have gotten some kind of update!

When a cpn is scanned that there is either no item for or barcodes don't match, there is NO MORE 'print journal' instead a message comes up on the screen that says 'coupon pending' or scan gs1 barcode. IF the cashier hand keys any coupon in, the registers will not let her finish the transaction and a CSM is automatically called (and CSM must turn their key and a message comes up on their pda saying hand keyed cpn)

It was all very strange and I had used one of the cpns in question sunday with no problems. Now before anyone gets all testy, lol, the reason I know about the part of not having the item but trying to use a cpn, is I had a bag of apples that had a coupon attached (for peanut butter) that was also the barcode for the apples..i kid you not, the actual barcode for the bag of apples was right below the coupon barcode! So everytime she tried to scan the product, it caught the cpn barcode instead and screen said coupon pending and locked up the register. LONG checkout process, since she did handkey one coupon in that wouldn't scan, the CSM had to come over and finsh with her key. Then told cashier they CAN NOT hand key cpns that they must call csm over or just give cpn back to customer.

Now, the best part of the update is..I had a few overage cpns and they went right thru!! It was great! No, 'valid coupon amount' came up or anything like that, they simply scanned right thru and took off full amount. That part was very quick and easy! So I guess along with the bad does come a little good!

Hope all this makes sense. lol It was a whole new experience and I am a seasoned WM cpn shopper so was kinda caught off guard by all of it.

I kinda have a love/hate relationship with WM so I guess I will just see how things go the next time I am there.

Sigh! I just experienced this today and I am not a happy camper. It took half of my coupons and the others it said "coupon pending." Sad thing is the cashier even knew that the items were correct, because he stood there and read the coupons...AND I matched the items up with the coupons for him. He said he could call over a CSMLMAO...they seem to disappear when they are REALLY needed. I told him I would take it to the CS desk, because I did not want to continue to hold up his line.

I get to the CS desk and the young lady explains to me that it was the new system that corporate has startedMad. She also said that they were frustrated with it, because even with customers having the right items they can't do anything about it-->No keying in the coupon, no refunding the coupons missed...NADA! The systems tells the cashier at the end of the receipt (like print journal) to hand those coupons back to the customer.

I am not a happy camper at all.

'Whatever you give a woman, she will make greater. If you give her sperm, she'll give you a baby. If you give her a house, she'll give you a home. If you give her groceries, she'll give you a meal. If you give her a smile, she'll give you her heart. She multiplies and enlarges what is given to her. So, if you give her any crap, be ready to receive a ton of shit.'

I had a few coupons pending at my store, however when the csm came over he told the cashier to key them in manually, he put in his key, did his thing and walked away. I was a happy camper, of course that will probably never happen again, even with the same csm Smilie
